THE WEEKLY LION UPDATE
RUSHVILLE CONSOLIDATED HIGH SCHOOL
LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU SEE IT!
WEEK 5
As you will see from all the information packed into this week's newsletter we had quite the week at RCHS!! Mrs. Nicholls once again hit a home run with Homecoming! Everything ran so smooth and I think it was even better than last year. We even had to reroute the parade and hold the pep rally at the amphitheater and she did not bat an eye. It takes a lot to put this on and changing it up the day before is tough but she did it! This week was also the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. This past Wednesday we heard a very moving tribute to all of those involved in 9/11. Ms. McDermott came on the PA and presented such a passionate story. You could have heard a pin drop in the school for those 10 minutes. Thank you Ms. McDermott for sharing with us all. I absolutely love Homecoming week at RCHS!! It takes a lot of staff, students, and community members to make it all work and it really is the most impressive homecoming week I have ever been a part of! I hope you all enjoy looking back at this week but remember...It's Almost Monday!!!!!!

SPECIAL SHOUT OUT
9/11 - NEVER FORGET - KELLEY MCDERMOTT
On Wednesday morning 9/11 we all heard a very moving dedication to all of those involved in the tragic events that took place 23 years ago. 9/11/2001 is not just a date in history it is a date that for those of us that were alive at that time that we will never forget! Thank you Ms. McDermott for bringing your presentation to Rushville. I was walking in the halls while the presentation was being made by Ms. McDermott over the PA. It struck me that not one of our students and even a couple staff members were not alive at the time of this tragic event. Even though many in our building are not old enough to have witnessed or remember the events of that day you could have heard a pin drop in the school during the entire presentation. Thank you too for the display in our front entrance to help everyone remember. As the goosebumps took me over I was fighting back my emotions while I was thinking how lucky we are to live in this country, how lucky we are to have the community of Rushville, and how lucky we are to have people like Kelley McDermott on our staff!!

LINKS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Drop Off/Pick Up
This is a reminder that there is a crosswalk on Harrison Street (the road east of the teacher parking lot). If you are dropping off (or picking up) your student on Harrison, you must stay on the correct side of the road. This is not a one-way and there are cars (and busses) coming both directions. It is imperative that everyone stay on their corresponding sides of the road for student safety. Please advise your students to use the crosswalk because there are many cars in that area.
