Dolphin Digest for Parents
Vol. 39: June 9 - June 13, 2025
Dear NDE Families,
I’m sure your student has shared all the fun from Friday’s carnival—what an amazing event planned and hosted by our incredible 6th grade students, their teachers, and the entire staff! It ended with a surprise flash mob dance from the staff, which brought lots of smiles and laughter. Earlier in the day, the 5th grade Parade of the States was an impressive showcase of learning and creativity—way to go, 5th grade team!
As we head into the final week of school, our teachers have planned more fun activities to wrap up the year on a high note. Please remind your student that school expectations still apply, even during off-campus events or activities. A big thank you to all our parent volunteers—you help make these experiences possible, and we appreciate you deeply.
This Wednesday is the last spirit day for the school year - Beach Day! Thank you to student council for organizing these spirit days.
This Thursday at 8:30 a.m., we’ll hold our NDE Clap Out on the blacktop to celebrate and send off those who won’t be returning next year. We especially invite our 6th grade families to join us for this meaningful tradition. After the Clap Out, students will return to their classrooms. Please be sure to review the dismissal schedule linked below. Report cards will be sent home with students on Thursday.
This will be the final edition of the Dolphin Digest for the school year. Over the summer, students will continue to have access to I-Ready for both English Language Arts and Math, as well as Khan Academy. To help prevent the “summer slide,” we encourage students to read every day. Our local public library is a wonderful resource and offers fun summer activities and reading incentives.
Our first day of school will be Monday, August 25, 2025. Keep an eye out for the first edition of the Dolphin Digest on August 10, which will include important information to help your family get ready for the new school year.
Wishing all of you a safe, relaxing, and joy-filled summer!
With much gratitude,
Principal Pinto

We are a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) school!
What is PBIS?
A framework in which we develop systems to support students with behavior.
We do this by:
- Having consistent, school-wide expectations
- Explicitly teaching and re-teaching the expectations - shared responsibility
- Acknowledging the positive behavior
- Responding to problem behavior - it’s complicated!
- Using data to make decisions, make changes, and adjust systems
