Fall Festival -2024
Last Friday night was an example of one of the things that makes Dewey such a special place. I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to all the wonderful volunteers who helped make our Fall Festival such an incredible success! From planning and organizing to setting up booths, running activities, and ensuring every detail was perfect, your hard work and dedication truly shined. The energy, enthusiasm, and joy you brought made this event not only fun but also a memorable experience for our students and their families.
I'd like to acknowledge and thank Fall Festival coordinators Sadie Calderon and Alexis Carriker along with the PFO for making this event happen. We couldn’t have done it without you! Your generous commitment of time and effort is what makes our school community so special. Events like the Fall Festival are only possible because of the heart and passion of volunteers like you.
On behalf of the entire Dewey staff, students, and families, THANK YOU! Your contributions help create lasting memories and strengthen the bonds within our school community.
Warmest Regards,
Sabrina Parsley - Principal
Fall Festival Wrap Up
We hope you enjoyed this year's Fall Festival as much as we did! This year was a huge success for our school. We would like to thank all the parents who donated their resources such as Amazon supplies, cakes and candy donations. We would also like to send a special thanks to the parents who went above and beyond decorating their cars for our first Trunk or Treat, I loved seeing all your creative designs. This year we had a vision and wanted to make some changes. The biggest change was getting outside volunteers to assist with running the event. PFO added a new Volunteer Coordinator role this year, and when I went to them with my vision, we all knew it could be a BIG challenge. But I think the reward was even bigger, we all got to spend quality time at the festival participating in the fun with our kids instead of being tied down to volunteering. Thank you, Melissa Keil and Danielle Bowen, for all of you hard work and coordination to make it happen. In addition, the guys at the Blue Grill… CHEFS KISS! These dads from the area donated their time giving up their Friday night to serve up some amazing food for our families! I’m proud to announce that we raised over SEVEN THOUSAND dollars at the event! These proceeds are going directly back to your children going towards field trip funds and school improvements! It was truly a pleasure planning this event with the PFO and my right-hand lady Alexis Carriker. Thank you and we can’t wait for the next PFO event Friday November 8th, Movie night at the school. See you there!!

Coming Soon: Violin Classes!
We are excited to announce that later this semester, Harry Dewey will be offering classes in
playing the violin!
These classes are free and will be taught by Gay Currier, who is a retired member of the Sacramento Philharmonic and active member of the Sacramento Choral Society. Ms. Currier has many years of teaching experience with both private students and in various school district programs.
Violin class will be held on Wednesdays from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in room #14.
Instruments will be supplied free of charge.
This class is for students in grades 4, 5, & 6. Fifteen students will be accepted on a
first come, first served basis.
If you are interested, please fill out the form attached below, have your parents sign, and turn in the form to the office by October 18. Hard copies of the form are available in the office. Classes will begin October 23rd.
Seasonal Reminder!
We encourage healthy snacks during the school day and sweets in small quantities. Dewey has a "no-sharing food" rule to help ensure safety and respect for individual dietary needs.

Thank you!) The Jog-a-thon will include walking, jogging, or running laps within a forty-minute time period (one lap will equal approximately one-quarter mile). We are inviting all family members to join us on the day of the Jog-a-thon to run with their child’s class and/or help with management.
