Dear Harmony DC Families,

We’re excited to invite you to our Back-to-School Night on September 5 at 4:00 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, learn about classroom expectations, and hear about our plans for the year.

We look forward to connecting with you and building a strong partnership for a successful school year.

Here are some important reminders about attendance:

• School begins at 8:00 am Monday-Friday.
• Scholars are marked tardy after 8:30 am.
• School ends at 3:50 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
• School ends at 2:30 pm on Wednesdays.
• Before care is available for everyone beginning at 7:30 am.

School opens its doors for Before Care at 7:30 am every day. Students should not be dropped off before 7:30 am as no staff is available to watch students before 7:30 am. Also, parents are expected to walk their scholars to the cafeteria gate for before care between 7:30-8:00. Drop-offs on Todd Place are staffed between 8:00 - 8:30 am. If you bring your child before 8:00 am or after 8:30 am, please make sure to walk them into the building for a safe drop-off.

Dear parents and Guardians,

It’s very important that all students are up to date on immunization.

Students without proper immunization records may not be able to enroll in DC schools. Do not wait until the last minute.

DC Health has updated its resource that lists locations for pediatric vaccinations throughout the District. The resource is available here.

If you need a printed copy, please stop by school front office to receive one.

Beginning of year assessments will start next week. We want to ensure that all students are well-prepared to demonstrate their learning. Please note that assessments will take place over the next few weeks, and it is essential for students to be present and in school all day during this time. Consistent attendance helps our students perform their best.

• NWEA MAP Growth Assessments (Math and Reading): Grades K - 5, Dates: August 26 - September 6
• Every Child Ready (ECR): Grades: Pre-Kindergarten, Dates: September 3- September 13

Harmony Families,

We know you LOVE your peanut products! Snickers! Reese's! Who doesn't love a delicious peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich on toast?

However, some students (and staff) are allergic to peanuts. Peanuts, for them, can be extremely dangerous, even life-threatening.

We ask that students enjoy delicious peanut snacks and treats at home as Harmony DC PCS is a peanut-free zone.

All students are offered free breakfast and lunch every day. Vegetarian/vegan options are also available.
