New Information
Library FUN!
Thank you for helping your child return their library books to school!
- Over the last few months our Kindergarteners have been continuing to explore fiction and nonfiction books. Our latest has been on interactive books! They enjoy reading these books while also moving their bodies by doing things like shaking, tilting, tapping, tickling, etc.
- The first graders have been exploring “Look and Find” books. They enjoy the challenge of reading the words and then finding something hidden in a picture. We have also spent some time learning about magazines and all the fun things you can do in them (like “Look and Finds”!)
- The second graders are all in with writing and illustrating books for our “Washington Authors and Illustrators Wall”. Some of the classes are working together with me to write a whole class story. Other students have chosen to work independently. We are using books in the library as mentor texts to identify the things authors include in fiction books like characters, settings, feelings/emotions, etc.
If you are unsure of the books your child currently has checked out, please feel free to email me at Lwilczak@d75.org or you can send me a message through Seesaw.

Repeated Information
Winter Weather Note from Superintendent
As we move into the winter weather season, we want to remind you of our procedures in the event we need to close our schools or implement a late start due to inclement weather.
- If weather and road conditions make it too dangerous for students to travel to school, District 75 would either close schools or delay the start of school for that day.
- In either case, the District office would notify all D75 families and staff by 6 a.m. and post the information on each school’s web page. Notifications would be sent via text, voicemail and email for parents/guardians listed in PowerSchool.
- District 75 would also announce its intention to either close the schools for a “snow day,” or implement an “e-learning day” for students along with specific directions regarding the e-learning procedures.
- If closure is not announced by 6 a.m., schools will be open as normal.
Best regards,
Kevin Myers, Superintendent District 75
Winter Arrival Procedures
Please have students prepared to exit the vehicle, when you arrive. Being prepared to exit on the right is necessary for safety! Thanks for your help allowing all our students to arrive safely and quickly!
Set of Back-up Clothes
Our Health Office is asking that, after break, you send your child with a full set of spare clothes. Our students need a change of clothes more often than you'd think! This will save you a trip to the school to bring your child dry and clean change of clothes. Thanks for your help!
