We Need Your Help to Hit Our Fundraising Goal!

Our Fall for Ross fundraising drive ends on Nov 1, and currently we are 33% of the way to our goal of raising $50,000. We are asking all Ross families to consider giving at least $50/month ($600 annually) to help the PTA continue to deliver strong programs in support of Ross and our community. If $600 isn't possible for your family, please contribute what you can. Everything helps!

The PTA uses funding to:

Offset Ross's operational expenses, enabling Principal Searl to invest more of Ross's DCPS budget in staffing,
Hosting community-building events, like the Back-to-school Picnic, Spooktacular Halloween celebration, and Family Bingo Night, and
Funding teacher and staff appreciation activities.

During the meeting, we voted to sign (as the Ross PTA), a Safe Routes to School petition. You can learn more about the DC Safe Routes to School Program here.

This Wed (Oct 12) - Walk & Roll to School Day

This Wed. morning, Oct 12th, walk to school with fellow Ross families, teachers, the PTA, and special guests (including a police K-9 crew).

Rain or shine, meet at 7:50AM at the northeast corner of 15th and R streets (in front of the Presbyterian Church) and walk together to Ross.

Participants are encouraged to wear Ross gear! Parents are welcome to stay longer for a PTA-sponsored coffee hour on the playground. Join us for a fun morning!

Oct 27 - Spooktacular Halloween Celebration

Volunteers needed! Sign up here to help!

Mark your calendars for 5 pm on Thurs, Oct 27th! Ross kids and families will meet in costume on the Ross playground for fun and games. We will then head out for a Trick or Treating Parade, supported by local businesses on 17th St.

An after-party at Pupatella Pizza that includes dinner is also in the works. Get ready to make a night of it with the Ross community and enjoy one of our favorite annual traditions!

Run 4 MK on Nov 12 - Join our Ross Team!

Ross is running in Miriam's Kitchen's annual Run 4 MK race on Sat Nov 12th. The event will drive awareness and raise funds to help end chronic and veteran homelessness in DC.

Races include a 5K, 10K, and a Kids Fun 500M Dash that will take place alongside the C&O Canal in Georgetown.

Volunteer Opportunity: DC Feeds Haiti, Oct 15, 12-2PM

Join fellow Ross families and help pack meals for needy families in Haiti, through the DC Feeds Haiti packathon event on Oct. 15. You can register with the Ross group, Team Gryffindor, and volunteer from 12-2pm.

Join the Next W2EC Meeting on Oct 19

The next virtual meeting of the Ward 2 Education Council (W2EC) will be Wed Oct. 19 at 7pm. At-Large Councilmember Robert White will be joining us as the Chair of the Committee overseeing the city's building maintenance to talk about school facilities needs.
