Proposition 28 Arts Funding Updates
NEW Art Enrichment Class-AOC Jazz Band Ensemble
This Friday, 3/14, in room 101, at lunch, we will host an informational meeting about AOC's new jazz and/or rockband. The instructor is coming to meet with interested students so we can organize a meeting time and date that works for interested students. We hope all of our enthusiastic musicians join the meeting! See Dr. Fine with any questions.
Harry Potter at the Pantages Tickets Went Fast!
With our Proposition 28 funding, we are thrilled to offer students the opportunity to experience live theater at the Pantages. Since this was our first opportunity, we were able to secure a limited number of tickets, which filled up within just 30 minutes!
Thank you to everyone for your enthusiastic interest. We’re excited to provide this experience for both AOC and LPA students, and we look forward to offering more opportunities in the future!
Students Learn Videography Skills in After School Enrichment Class
Student Skills Transfer to AOC TV
Student who participated in AOC's after school enrichment videography and stortyelling and photography transfer their schools to their Communication Class with Mr. Whilhelm.
Make sure to Spring Forward!
Hey AOC students and parents!
We’re Mary and Jocelyn, a part of Budget Bites–a Senior Capstone Project devoted to tackling food insecurity within the homeless population of the Santa Clarita community. This coming Saturday (March 15), we are holding a food distribution volunteer event at Bridge To Home in Newhall for students to have the opportunity to engage in community service and earn hours for NHS or 9th Grade Seminar.
However, we need your help! Part of this event includes preparing 80 lunch meals to hand out to people in need. We kindly ask that you also participate in this by donating items for the distribution event. The following items are listed below:
3 Jars of 40-oz Peanut Butter
3 Jars of Jelly (any flavor)
6 Loaves of Bread
2 Packaged Lunch Meat (ham/turkey)
2 Cases of 16.9-oz Water Bottles
2 Cases of Juice Boxes/Pouches
3 Jars of 15-oz Mayonnaise
1 Bag of Small Mustard Packets
3 Boxes of 30-count Variety Chips
Brown Lunch Bags (min 80 total)
Please sign up first through this link https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054DABAE2BA7FCCF8-55613766-food or by scanning the QR code in the flyer attached to select what items and the quantity you would like to donate. One service hour will be offered for every 3 items donated, and the maximum hours that can be earned is 2.
Non-perishable donations will be collected in front of the Wellness Room until Thursday, March 13. Please bring any perishable items that need to be refrigerated (such as lunch meats) on Thursday and place them in the cooler.
If you have any questions, please contact budgetbites.scp@gmail.com. Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
