September 3, 2024
It was an honor and a pleasure to welcome new and returning families at the open house last Wednesday! It was inspiring to see all the smiling faces and hear all the excited voices in the hallways. I enjoyed meeting families and students and look forward to continuing to build relationships with one another. We appreciate any and all feedback regarding communication for our open house this year. We will continue to streamline our processes as we are striving to be better and be different day after day.
It has also been a joy having students here for the first day back! Thank you for trusting us to support their educational journey as Robinwood Jaguars. The classroom communities are already beginning to flourish with new connections and shared experiences. We are thrilled to announce that today has been a smooth and successful start to the 2024-2025 school year! Thank you for all you have done to prepare your child(ren) for today. We are looking forward to watching them grow this year!

MAP TESTING GRADES K5-5
Your son/daughter will be participating in MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) assessments in math and reading on 9/9/24 - 9/20/24. MAP is an online assessment that Franklin teachers and other professional staff use to determine your child’s achievement levels, academic growth, and other information that can help to improve teaching and learning. The full MAP assessment will be administered again in January and May of this school year so achievement and growth can be monitored over time. Below is the MAP Testing schedule.
Please ensure that your students are well rested and have a nutritious breakfast

CLASSROOM SNACKS
Please remember to pack a snack each day for your child. Snacks allowed must follow the District Wellness Policy, meaning that your child may choose to bring in fruits, vegetables, cheese, yogurt, meat, pretzels, popcorn, and goldfish crackers unless nursing services and/or building administrator discretion warrants further limitations. Additionally, It is highly suggested that children wanting to celebrate their birthdays and holidays do so with non-food items. Please consider sending non-food items to school such as pencils, stickers, slinky, trading cards, donating a book to your child’s classroom library, or talking to your child’s teacher about ideas you might have to make your child feel special. Thank you for helping us to prevent unfavorable medical outcomes for students with food allergies and other chronic illnesses impacted by food consumption.
ATTENTION 4K & KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES
4K & Kindergarten students will be picked up and dropped off with other elementary students at a designated stop. A parent or designee must assume responsibility for the child at the stop when dropped off.
If parents would like to designate a person other than themselves, they can send an email to heidi.engel@franklin.k12.wi.us
In regards to same day notification (this should only be done for emergencies), please call GoRiteway Busing at 414-571-9001 so they can pass along the information to the bus driver.
