Forestdale School News

Thank you for your support of the PTA Fun Run. The PTA raised over $35,000 for Forestdale School. These funds are used for grants for field trips, assembly's, and other projects around the building. High on the list of projects is a reconstruction of the Forestdale Garden, located inside the bus loop next to the Outdoor Classroom.

There are many activities happening throughout the month of November, so please take some time to review the events.

On Thursday, October 31st, Forestdale students will parade inside Forestdale in their halloween costumes. This will take place from 9:15 am-9:35 am. Unfortunately, because of a lack of space, we can't offer for families to attend.

I ask that students do not wear any type of mask/face covering along with no hand held props/items accompanying their costume. Please be sure that costumes are easily accessible for students to remove for use of the restroom.

Teacher conferences will be Wednesday, November 6th. All conferences are virtual, unless an in-person conference is requested.

On Thursday and Friday, November 14th and 15th, PTA will host a book fair at Forestdale. Each classroom will be scheduled to attend over the two day event. Families are welcome to join their students when their classsroom is scheduled to attend.

More information from the PTA will be coming your way regarding Family Night on Friday, November 15th.

On Wednesday, November 27th, we will hold our annual Turkey Trot Run/Walk for all students. The run/walk will begin at 10:00 am. The event will start in the bus loop and travel throughout a course around the back of the building and finish inside the bus loop. We welcome families to join their students during the run/walk.

We will also celebrate self care by dedicating all activities throughout the day to support personal wellness among students and staff.

On Sunday, November 3rd, daylight savings ends and clocks will be turned back by 1 hour. Enjoy the extra hour of sleep!

Wednesday, November 27th @ 10:00 am/families are encouraged to attend and participate in the annual Forestdale Turkey Trot. This is also a half-day of school. Dismissal begins at 12:20 pm. No lunches will be served.

Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th students are on Thanksgiving Recess. Students return to school on Monday, December 2nd.
