Dear Families,

Welcome Back! Hard to believe we are in our last stretch of the school year! With this stretch comes Indiana's state assessment, ILEARN, for our students in grades 3-5. The Elsie Rogers Testing window will officially open on April 18.

Please make every effort to have your child in school during this time. Though we do not wish to cause any unwanted stress on your child during this experience, we do want children to be cognizant of the fact these are very important tests. Teachers have been working with students all year on grade level state standards as well as sample questions and testing format so they are familiar with what they will see.

Please do not schedule appointments during testing dates. It is disruptive to your child to take them out of school on a date that is scheduled for a test unless it is a time-sensitive issue related to their health. There will be no days excused for family vacations during testing dates. It should also be noted that prompt arrival is necessary on testing days. If your child is tardy to school and testing has begun, your child will be asked to sit in the office until the testing is completed in their classroom. We greatly appreciate your help with this. Our goal is 100% attendance during these days!

The P-H-M Education Foundation supports education through awarding innovative teaching grants, scholarships to students, staff development and other corporation-wide initiatives that fall outside the district’s budget.

The PHMEF recently turned 25(er 26) years old, and to celebrate, we’re raising the curtain and turning on the stage lights for some incredible Broadway themed performances featuring our talented P-H-M students!

Watch the performances below, vote for your favorite(s) as many times as you like. Votes are $5 and can help a school win a PHM-ammy and a $1,000 fine-arts grant. Each school will get back 25% of their funds raised AND the rest will support innovative teacher grants and programs in ALL 15 P-H-M schools.

Congratulations to 3rd grade teacher, Krystle Mauro! She welcomed baby #2 a month early! Milo was born on April 3 weighing in at 5lbs 13 oz. We are thankful for a safe delivery for mom and baby!

If you would like to visit your student for lunch, we welcome you! Please take a moment and preview the guidelines below:

• Parents MUST call the front office to reserve a spot at least 24 hours ahead of the time they want to come as space is limited.
• We can only offer this opportunity on M, T, TH, and F. Wednesdays will NOT be availabe due to the guest lunch space being occupied.
• Parent and student will enjoy lunch in the PAR (Project Activity Room).
• We can only have 3 visitors per lunch because of space availability
• Parent/Visitor will need to follow the meal, drink, and technology guidelines provided on page 13 in the student planner/handbook.

Mrs. Elliot will be working with 4th and 5th grade students on a spring musical performance. Students will be ready for present to parents on May 17.
