Dear Zion Families,
I would like to inform you of a few important guidelines to ensure that our school environment remains productive and secure for everyone.
When visiting the school or classrooms, please:
1. Notify the Teacher: If you plan to eat lunch with your student or visit a specific classroom, please inform the teacher in advance. This ensures your name will be on the visitor list for that day. This allows for proper preparation and minimizes disruptions to the learning process. These times are not ideal for a Parent/ Teacher conference.
2. Inform the School Office: Upon arrival, kindly check in at the office and get a visitors badge. Your name should be on our visitor list for the day. This helps us maintain accurate records and ensure the safety of all students and staff.
3. Drop off and Pick up: You may walk your student to the school doors in the morning. Please do not cross drop-off traffic lines.
Because of the nature of the pick-up procedure and staff availability, we ask you not to walk up and pick up your student after school. If you cannot wait in the secure pick-up lines, please pick up your student before 3pm. If you walk up to pick up your student, they will be released when the pick-up line slows down and a staff member is available to assist you. **For athletes who leave early on game days, the north corner door will be used for early pick up.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us maintain a secure, positive, and efficient learning environment. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you for your support!
Mrs. Winkelman
Important Reminders To Keep Zion Healthy
As we are seeing an influx of illness, we need your help to reduce the spread of germs.
--It is very important for students to stay home when feeling sick.
--Students should stay home until 24 hours after they are fever free without the use of fever - reducing medications.
-- Please keep students home if they are vomiting or have diarrhea.
--If a student has fever, vomiting, or diarrhea today, they cannot come to school for at least 24 hours after symptoms have ceased.
Please see page 36 of our handbook for more details. https://www.zionwalburg.org/school/family-resources/family-resources/
Archery Instructor Certification Course
Zion has a strong archery program for students in grades 4th-8th and a record number of them qualified and competed at the state meet this past semester. Some area high schools have an archery program and outstanding graduating seniors can earn college scholarships for the sport. Our practices will take place during the school day a couple of times each month under the guidance of certified instructors.
An Archery Instructor Certification Course is being held in our gym on Saturday, September 21st, from 8 AM to 3 PM. The course is easy and fun. This will make you eligible to assist our archery students and Zion is happy to reimburse you for the registration fee in exchange for your willingness to serve occasionally.
The class is limited to twelve participants and filling up fast, so sign up now. Thank you!
