MANDATORY RUNNING START MEETING: If you are interested or plan to participate in the Running Start program for the 2024-25 school year, please fill out this SURVEY. Also, visit the CHS website Running Start Page and join the Running Start Google Classroom for more information. It is very important that you attend a college sponsored running start information night so if you haven't attended one yet, please go to the Clark College and/or CWU (Central Washington University) website for additional events and/or recorded events. Then, you and a parent will be required to attend a mandatory meeting at CHS. This is not a general information meeting, it is to learn about specific high school policies and procedures that need to be followed, completed and considered. The CHS Meeting will be held in the CHS Library on Tuesday, May 14th that will last approximately 30 minutes . You have the choice to attend either at 7:30am OR 6:00pm.
ARTS WALK/HEALTH FAIR: On Saturday, May 18th, WSVSD will hold it’s 3rd Annual Arts Walk featuring student and staff art. There will be art displays at Whitson and at the Columbia Field House. See the flier in ENGLISH and SPANISH. This year, there will also be a Health Fair in the HMS gym as well featuring community resources about medical care, mental health supports, summer activities, family wellbeing, and more. See the fliers in English and Spanish HERE.
SAFETY CONCERNS: If you have any concerns about things going on at Columbia High School such as bullying or safety issues, there are a couple of ways to report them. You can always stop by the office to chat with Mr. McKee or Mrs. Hume, you can talk with any trusted adult on campus, or you can report your concerns online through our safe schools alert. This can be accessed on the CHS website. There is a pop out button on the right side of the home screen titled “Safety Concerns.” The best option when utilizing the online reporting tool is to submit a web tip. Although concerns can be submitted anonymously, Mr. McKee and Mrs. Hume will be able to follow up with you directly if you submit your name. Concerns will be handled confidentially when at all possible.
