REDWOLVES FAMILIES 2024-2025
November 17, 2024
Dear Redwolves Families,
As we move further into the school year and approach the end of the semester on January 17th, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of Clinton Community Schools. This time of year offers a chance to reflect on the progress our students have made and the hard work of our staff in creating an environment where learning and growth are prioritized.
While the second marking period is already behind us, the holiday season provides a great opportunity to check in with your student about their progress and make plans for a strong finish to the semester. Whether it’s reviewing grades, connecting with teachers, or setting goals for the year ahead, now is the perfect time to prepare for success.

Building administration will communicate with families after each drill, so please stay tuned for these updates. Thank you for your continued support in making our schools safe and prepared.
Athletics Reminder
We are proud to offer free admission to home athletic events for students with their school I.D. We encourage families to come out and support our teams while fostering a positive and spirited atmosphere.
Stay Connected

High School Addition Update
High School Addition Bond Update
The excitement continues to build as progress advances on the new High School addition. While there is always plenty happening on-site and changes occur daily, we are pleased to share the latest updates. Our team remains hopeful for a move-in date around Spring Break 2025, provided that all building and safety inspections are completed, the building is fully operational, and any final adjustments are resolved.
Here is where things stand:
- Interior Work: Approximately 85% of the interior painting is complete, adding vibrant new life to the hallways and classrooms. Lockers and railings are fully installed, and the second-floor areas are seeing the start of floor finishing. Work on the gym floor is set to begin in mid-December.
- Utilities & Hardware: The boilers are now running, and programming is underway to ensure smooth operation. Door access hardware installation is also in progress, while classroom cabinet installation is well underway.
- Exterior Progress: Materials for siding have arrived and are expected to be completed this week.
- Site Work: The asphalt finish coat and painting are now completed.
As we work through these final stages, our goal remains to create a state-of-the-art facility that enhances our students’ learning experiences and enriches the Clinton Community Schools environment. Thank you for your continued support, patience, and excitement as we approach the finish line for this incredible project!
We’ll continue to provide updates as progress unfolds. Stay tuned for more exciting news!

**County Attendance Procedures**
Attendance
Classroom attendance instills a concept of self-discipline, exposes a student to group interactions with teachers and fellow students, and enables a student to hear and participate in class discussion and other related learning experiences.
Regular attendance is critical in the development and learning of all students. Absences are lost hours of learning and instruction, rather than a simple tally of days.
Research shows that chronic absence is a directly linked factor contributing to lower test scores, an increased dropout rate, and significantly lower levels of reading and math abilities. Chronic absence is defined as missing 10% or more of any school period for any reason. Therefore, when interventions take place, it is not necessary to determine whether absences are excused or unexcused.
Goal
The goal of the school district is to link all students and families with the appropriate resources which will enable them to overcome the barriers that interfere with regular attendance.
Absences
All absences must be communicated to the school office by the parent or guardian on the day of. All absences will be handled in the following manner per semester:
- Step 1: After five absences, a letter will be mailed home to notify the parent, or a phone call will be made to the parent.
- Step 2: After nine absences, the school administrator will determine if an Attendance Improvement Meeting with the students and parents is appropriate. The reasons for the absences will be taken into account when determining the need for a meeting. The goal of the meeting will be to address the root cause of the absences, offer academic support, alternative education if appropriate, and attendance expectations to include an attendance agreement. Interventions will include, but are not limited to mental health screening, problem solving, tutoring, outside agency referral, and mentoring. The LISD truancy office will be invited to the meeting and may attend. The attendance improvement plan will be shared with the LISD truancy office and the Lenawee County Prosecutor for review and follow up.
Background Checks
To ensure the safety of our students, Clinton Community Schools will be using the RAPTOR visitor and volunteer management system. All visitors during school hours and/or volunteers with one of our school-sponsored organizations or events will have their background checked.
RAPTOR kiosks have been installed at each school building. Visitors and/or volunteers must participate in the following upon arrival:
- Present a government-issued identification (examples would include a valid driver's license, State ID, military-issued ID, or passport ID)
- Your ID will be scanned
- Once scanned, the visitor or volunteer will be permitted to proceed.
Questions about the procedures can be answered at the office of the building you wish to visit or volunteer in. Student safety is our first priority, your cooperation is sincerely appreciated
