FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
Cold and dreary Fall days are upon us, but our spirits certainly have not been dampened! There are so many great things happening here at Fr. Doyle throughout the month of October thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of so many teachers, staff and volunteers. Be sure to check the Upcoming Dates & Reminders section for more information!
Thank you to all of our grandparents and grandfriends who were able to join us for Grandparents' Day this past Monday! We had a wonderful morning spending time together, visiting classrooms, and praying the Living Rosary. It was a beautiful reminder of the vibrancy of our school community!
In addition, I am excited to announce the formation of the Father John V. Doyle Instructional Basketball League - available to students (both boys and girls) in grades 2, 3, and 4. Coached by our own Mr. Breault, the league will meet Monday afternoons from 2:30-4:00pm in the gym. This fun, skills-based, intramural league will focus on building foundational skills and teaching students the fundamentals of the game. The league will begin on Monday, November 18th. To sign up, submit the registration form (attached under Important Forms and Documents) to the main office. No previous basketball experience required!
Also, a reminder that progress reports will be sent home today (10/11) and parent teacher conferences will be held next Thursday (10/17) and Friday (10/18). I've attached a few suggestions for a successful parent teacher conference under Important Forms and Documents below. I invite you to review these suggestions in the week ahead. We look forward to meeting with you!
Finally, please review these important reminders regarding Morning Care and After School Care:
- Morning Care begins each morning at 7:00am and runs until 7:40am.
- Students dropped off at school prior to 7:40am must report to Ms. Cunningham's room for morning care.
- Students not picked up within ten minutes of dismissal will be checked into the After School Care program, as stated in our handbook. Students are not permitted to wait for a ride outside or in the main office.
Please know that these protocols are in place to ensure the safety and appropriate supervision of our students. Thank you for your cooperation.
As always, thank you so much for your continued support of our school and this great community! Have a wonderful and restful long weekend!
Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up
Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
