Eye on the Future Teen Video Contest
Submissions due: April 16, 2023
The National Eye Institute (NEI) encourages teens living in the United States to explore careers in science through the Eye on the Future (EOTF) campaign. Through this effort, NEI is hosting a national contest where teens can submit a video in one of three categories: science in their world, science in the field or lab, and/or science in their future.
Learn more about the contest.
The 3M Young Scientist Challenge invites students to share their solutions for a chance to win $25,000 and an exclusive 3M Mentorship.
To enter, students need to make a 1-2 minute video describing an original idea for using science to help solve an everyday problem. Focusing on a topic they care about, students put creative thinking and STEM brainstorming into action. What problem do they want to solve?
Challenge entries accepted through April 27, 2023. See the 3M Young Scientist Lab website for complete rules and regulations.

Why Marine Turtles: Why Are They So Cool and What Can We Do to Protect Them? Livestream Event
Marine turtles are an important part of coastal and marine ecosystems and are critical to the well-being of local communities. But marine turtles face numerous threats in their natural habitat, such as entanglement in fishing nets, plastic pollution, and being hunted for their shells, which are transformed into accessories like bracelets. In this presentation, marine turtle experts Ceci Fischer and Michael Jensen (World Wildlife Fund Coral Triangle) will take you on a journey through the world of marine turtles, exploring their unique behaviors and delving into the challenges they face. This event will take place on April 12 at 10 am Alaskan Time.
