🔆Classroom Spotlight🔆
🌟 Ms. Strelec's middle school Science class, dove into the nervous system 🧠 and learned how it plays a key role in recognizing when we’re at rest or active. 💨❤️ They're studying how the brain helps your lungs and heart team up when you need more oxygen, like during exercise, the nervous system signals your lungs to expand and your heart to pump faster! 💪✨

The district’s commitment to transparency remains essential to our partnership with the Woodland Park community. As we continue to use the generous 1.09% city sales tax dedicated to supporting our students, schools, and staff, we want to ensure everyone is informed about how these funds are allocated and utilized to benefit our district.
We are disappointed to hear some accuse the district of not being transparent in the use of funds. In May of this year, a detailed breakdown of these expenditures was presented to the public and City Council, underscoring our transparent approach. This presentation outlines how these funds are invested to enhance educational quality, support teachers, expand learning resources, and provide the facilities our students need to succeed. You can view the slides from this presentation here or by visiting our website.
We appreciate the continued engagement of this great Woodland Park community in the educational success of every Woodland Park School District student. Because of your support, every student in our district receives a high-quality education from highly qualified teachers and the opportunity to participate in enriching activities like athletics, band, theater, and other extracurricular programs.
