Luke Sirolli | Principal
Dear OLOM Families,
This week, we celebrated some wonderful students who received OLOM Value Certificates. These awards recognise students who show the important values of our school:
- Justice
- Compassion
- Respect
- Integrity
- Service
- Excellence
Well done to all the students and families who live out these values every day!
P&F Meeting – Monday 17th at 6:00 PM
Our second P&F meeting for the year will be held at school on Monday, 17th at 6:00 PM.
The meeting will have two parts:
- Discussing upcoming events and any important school matters.
- Enjoying "Cakes and Cookies" while connecting with other families and sharing feedback on what is great at OLOM and what could be even better.
We would love to see you there!
Harmony Day – Friday
On Friday, we invite all students, staff, and families to wear orange. Orange is the colour of harmony, diversity, and unity.
OLOM is a special place, with over 40 different nationalities represented in our community. Our diversity is our strength – many cultures, one family!
Parent-Teacher Meetings – Week 8
In Week 8, parents are invited to meet with teachers to talk about their child’s progress in 2025. This is a great time to ask questions, share any concerns, and celebrate your child’s growth.
More information on how to book a meeting will be sent out next week.
The Importance of Sleep
Getting enough sleep is the most important thing for a child’s health, wellbeing, and learning. Research shows that children and adults need at least 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night.
Just as important as how long we sleep is when we sleep. A regular bedtime routine helps our bodies stay healthy and ready for learning.
Tips for Good Sleep:
✅ No devices (phones, iPads, laptops) one hour before bed.
✅ Same bedtime every night – routine is important.
✅ Sleep for at least 8 hours.
✅ Be active during the day – exercise helps us sleep better.
✅ Eat dinner 2-3 hours before bed – avoid late meals.
Supporting Every Child’s Development
Children grow and learn at different speeds. Some may need extra support with reading, while others may need movement breaks, reminders about behaviour, or extra time to eat.
At OLOM, we support every child based on their individual needs. Our goal is to help all students feel safe, happy, and ready to learn.
We are moving our newsletter day to Thursday as of next week so look out for it!
Thank you for being part of our amazing school community!
Thank you for all your cooperation and kindness this week. We look forward to another wonderful week in Week 7.
💙 Take care, and God bless.
Luke Sirolli
