Wetus and Pilgrim homes designed by our 3rd graders helps them to understand more about the indigenous people of our area. Students will visit the Plimouth Pautuxet Museum in November.

This week we welcome families to join us for Parent Teacher Conferences. You are welcome to do the conference in person or virtually. We are excited to build this partnership. If you are having difficulty scheduling a conference, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher. We will have additional conferences on November 6th and 7th.

A few years ago I was unexpectedly in Asheville NC for a couple days and before flying home, I stopped by a local farmers market and met Kevin Krzyzaniak, proprietor of Blue Ridge Chaga Company. I bought some of Kevin's homemade chaga tea mix, as well as a couple other mushroom teas he created, by hand, after foraging the mushrooms himself.

Like so many folks in storm-ravaged NC, Kevin's livelihood - his means of putting food on his family's table - was devastated by the recent storms. In his weekly newsletter, he provided a link to a site called "Love Asheville From Afar." This site includes links to literally hundreds of local NC businesses like Kevin's that would greatly benefit from people like us "shopping local." So, if you've been wondering how your dollars can really help this area in the rebuilding process, your purchases will certainly make an immediate impact.
