Hello Folks,
Welcome to the 9th edition of Dorm Happenings here on campus from KSB.
New Staff Introduction: We want to give a warm KSB Wildcat Welcome to the newest member of our Howser Dorm staff Ms. Hannah Patterson, and Mr. Jeremy Randles. Both of these fine young folks are beginning a new chapter in their careers with us here at Howser Dorm.
The week began on Sunday afternoon with a group of 22 young ladies from Morehead State University from the Delta Gamma Sorority. This group's philanthropy is Service for Sight, which aids and supports individuals with visual impairments and help fund 5 schools of the blind across the United States. KSB is very appreciative of the work VP Foundation member Grace Funke and President Brooklyn Hurt and all the other ladies for working with Mr. Larry Rhodes, our recreation director, with decorating our recreation gym for our Halloween Party.
On Monday our students were visited in the dorm by Mr. John Aaron, and his service dog Olive, and she was greeted with many interesting hugs and petting Olive. We appreciate the visit from Mr. John and Olive and look forward to seeing them back in couple of weeks. On Tuesday after supper time, we celebrated October birthdays for students and staff, and we also decorated pumpkins to get ready for our upcoming Halloween party. Our dorm students had a great time eating cupcakes, ice cream and singing Happy Birthday.
We would also like to thank our maintenance staff for all their work in putting together the new furniture we have in the recreation gym. It is KSB Wildcat Red and Black with the Wildcat logos and a true era of school spirit.
Wednesday night the dorm students were in two groups as one group (elementary students) went to the Zoo and participated in Boo at the Zoo, and the other went to the recreation gym and played on the new air hockey and foosball games we that , have in the recreation gym. Also had a group playing pool and another group of students playing in the gym. A full scale of life skills on display during this time.
On Thursday we ended the week with a night outside under the cool brisk October Sky with camp fire and smores. Then some more time in the recreation gym playing on the bouncy mat, listening to music and playing the Big Screen TV and more rounds of billiards being played. It has been a busy week here at the Howser Dorm and as we bring this beautiful fall week to a close I would like to leave this thought with you.
Catch the spirit of fall with every golden leaf that falls!” Author Unknown
