March 2, 2025
Dear GMS Families,
The last two weeks have been busy and have included lots of fun! We recently celebrated our 100th day of school, marking an important milestone in our students’ learning journey. It was wonderful to see many of our students and teachers engaged in fun activities centered around the number 100, reflecting on how much they have grown and learned since the start of the school year.
As we transition into March, the nicer weather has been a welcome change, allowing students to enjoy more time outdoors during recess and other activities. We encourage families to ensure their children are dressed appropriately for the changing temperatures so they can make the most of these outdoor opportunities.
Our students have also been active in learning experiences beyond the classroom. Our AIME and MILE students had the opportunity to take community field trips, connecting with local organizations and learning in hands-on environments. These experiences are invaluable in helping students apply their skills in real-world settings. Additionally, our second graders went on a field trip that sparked curiosity and excitement for learning. We appreciate the support of our staff and families in making these trips possible as we had many parent volunteers helping for this!
We also want to recognize the students who participated in the 2-Ball District Competition on February 24. This event showcased teamwork, coordination, and sportsmanship, and we are so proud of all who represented our school. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for a few important dates. Tuesday, March 11, will be a half-day for students due to a Teacher Institute Day. Dismissal will be at 11:25 am, so please plan accordingly. Then, on Wednesday, March 12, our fifth-grade students will participate in a Mental Health Awareness event. This is an important opportunity for them to learn about emotional well-being, self-care, and other strategies. If you have any questions, please reach out to administration or your classroom teacher.
As always, we are grateful for the continued support of our families. Thank you for working alongside us this year to create meaningful experiences for our students. We look forward to all the learning and growth that the coming months will bring!

Welcome March!
