Wondering about HDT Math?
High Dosage Tutoring (HDT) Math class meets on Lynx Wednesdays (Lynx Session A - with your Advisement class / teachers / meet link). You do receive a grade and credit for this class! HDT Math is a Pass/Fail class where 70% or higher is passing. To pass, it is expected that students complete at least 30 minutes of MAP Accelerator each week.
MAP Accelerator is a personalized learning tool that ties scores from a student’s MAP Growth scores to learning pathways in Khan Academy—complete with lessons, instructional videos, and practice problems. It’s like having your own personal tutor in math!
In a typical 5-day week, students have the opportunity to work on MAP Accelerator for an hour each week. This includes 15 minutes in each Study Hall and 30 minutes in Lynx Session A. Students are still expected to complete 30 minutes of MAP Accelerator if there is a 4-day week, and those minutes are built into Study Hall.
Although your minutes spent on this program are important, so are your skills and levels. Try to work on leveling up and mastering new skills during each session! If you complete the required minutes but have not made progress in any skills or levels, you will not pass HDT Math
HDT Math is a separate class and a separate grade from your regular math class with your math teacher. However, your math teacher can certainly help you with MAP Accelerator. For example, if your personal MAP Accelerator level seems too easy or too difficult, your math teacher can adjust that for you.
Please let your HDT Math (Advisement) teachers and Math teacher know if you have any questions!
Twelve Talks to Have with Teens
Sources of Strength
Everyone has ups and downs, and leaning on strengths can help people get through tough times. Talking to the youth in your life about their own sources of strength can help them know what to do and where to turn when they need help or support. This can be a really upbeat and fun conversation, perhaps starting out with: What are some of your natural strengths?

Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) Online Auction Ending Soon!
Bidding began on March 15 and will close this coming Monday, April 1 (no foolin!) at 8pm. Please note that some items may close later due to popcorn bidding.
Follow this link: https://jrlpptso.winningbidder.com/event/2934 to register for the auction and view all the items. Your donations will help the PTSO to support JRLP in many ways including: bringing our JRLP community together through events and activities (such as Fall Fest, Homecoming, Movie Nights, Ice Cream Socials, Teacher Appreciation, etc.) and helping us cover the start-up costs for our PTSO. We appreciate your support! Share this link with family and friends and join the fun before the bidding ends!
TWO IMPORTANT AUCTION ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- DONATIONS: Not interested in any of the auction items? If you would rather make a donation, you can register at the link above and press the donate button in the upper right corner. We appreciate donations in any amount as everything helps to support our amazing school!
- WINNING BIDDERS: If you are a winning bidder at the end of the auction, there will be an option to leave a tip when checking out. This tip does not go to the PTSO. It goes to the auction site as they are a free site for non-profits, and the tips allow them to continue to offer their services for free. You may choose whether you would like to give a tip or not. You may also choose whether you would like to cover the credit card fees so that all proceeds of the sale go to the PTSO.
If you have any questions regarding the auction, please email the PTSO Executive Board at jrlpptso@gmail.com. Happy bidding!
