NBMS STEM Family Challenge #4

How would you like to participate in quarterly STEM activities with your children at home? Our third NBMS Family STEM Challenge is:

Build a Helping Hand

• Here are some of the materials you can use

  • brass fasteners
  • corrugated cardboard (corrugated cardboard has grooves in the middle, like a cardboard shipping box)
  • hole punch (optional)
  • objects to pick up with your device (for example, tennis balls, cotton balls, paper cups)
  • 2–6 paint stirrers (found at paint supply or hardware stores)
  • 2 paper cups
  • rubber bands
  • ruler
  • sandpaper (optional)
  • scissors
  • string
  • tape (duct or masking)
  • wooden skewers or dowels

*Due by the End of the Grading Period - May 30, 2025

*Bring your families project to the media center to be displayed for all to see.

Participants Receive:

1. Certificate of Participation for each quarterly submission.
2. If your family participates in and submits a finished product for 3 of 4 challenges this year, you will receive an authentic NASA Patch!
3. All submissions must have the following document submitted with the project.
