Lansing Elementary Weekly Update

Dear Families,

Thank you for attending parent-teacher conferences! We had a phenomenal turn out! It is a pleasure to partner with you!

Our book fair was very well attended during parent teacher conferences. Thank you to all our families who stopped by. Our Kiwanis Club is also purchasing one book for each classroom teacher. We have an amazing community.

As temperatures get colder, please send students to school in coats, hats, and gloves/mittens. Please also please send students in close-toed shoes. This will allow for the best recess experience.

Mark your calendars! November 7 from 5:00-6:30 at LES we will have a short Veterans Day event. This will feature the Leavenworth JROTC, the Calvary Angels, the Drum & Bugle Corps, Holly Kane singing and some of our students signing to America the Beautiful. All are welcome! The Kiwanis Club will also have hamburgers & hotdogs available to purchase. More information coming soon!

We are looking for clothing donations for our nurses office. If you have any clothing for students K-3, that you would be willing to donate, please reach out to cathy.powell@usd469.net

A few reminders:

Arrival & Dismissal: As temperatures are dropping, please send students to school in closed-toed shoes and jackets.

Our Schedule: If your student(s) is going to be late or absent from school, please call us at 913-727-1128.

Family Engagement & PTA: Our next Parent-Teacher Association meeting is October 24. The doors open at 6:00 for socializing and the meeting starts at 6:30. See more information below.

Before/After School care: Please see Y-care flyers. Parents/Guardians using Y-care will enter on the west side (2/3 side) through doors 20 & 21.

Please plan to drop off students after 8:00 am (M-W & F) and 9:00 am on Late Start Thursdays. If you utilize Y-Care, please sign students in with them EACH day.

Please follow the traffic pattern and remain in your vehicle (unless buckling/unbuckling) during pick up and drop off. Please position car seats so students are exiting curb side. If you need assistance, please call the office at 913-727-1128. If dropping off after 8:30, please sign in students in the office. If you need to pick up early, please call ahead & have your ID ready.
