Cedar Hill Football Season Ends in State Quarterfinals
The Cedar Hill High School Football Team finished the season in the UIL Class 6A Division II State Quarterfinals, exceeding all expectations.
The Longhorns (8-6) lost to defending state champion, DeSoto (13-0), 59-16. Four of Cedar Hill's six losses came against teams that are now in the state semifinals. Here's a photo gallery from the game.
Senior quarterback Anthony Edwards passed for 222 yards and two touchdowns, including touchdown passes to LeKeldrick Bridges and Kymeion Turner. The Longhorns also blocked an extra point attempt and returned it for two points. Keione Bright caught five passes for a team-high 77 yards.

Cedar Hill senior quarterback Anthony Edwards finished 7-2 as a starter this season, scoring a total of 19 touchdowns in those nine games.

Several Cedar Hill High School Graduates attended last Friday's playoff game, including former Jackson State football/baseball player Kyland Richey, who works as an engineer now, and former Baylor quarterback Garret McGuire, who finished his first season as wide receivers coach at Nebraska.
Kamdyn Benjamin is living on Tulsa Time these days, but he made the trip south to watch his beloved Longhorns. Benjamin was Tulsa's leading receiver this season.

Cedar Hill Football Alumni Update
Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter had quite a weekend. He led the Flames (13-0) to a 49-35 win over New Mexico State with a career-high 484 yards in the Conference USA Championship Game. Salter was named the game's MVP. Two days later, the Flames were selected for the Fiesta Bowl where they'll face Oregon on New Year's Day in Glendale, Arizona.
Oklahoma State defensive lineman Xavier Ross had a tackle in the Cowboys' 49-21 loss to Texas in the Big 12 Championship Game. OSU (9-4) will face Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl on December 27 in Houston.
Former Cedar Hill head football coach Joey McGuire and Red Raiders Charles Esters III, Jalon Peoples and Harvey Dyson III will face Cal in the Independence Bowl on December 16 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Tech finished the regular season at 6-6.
Kentucky offensive lineman Courtland Ford and the Wildcats (6-6) will face Clemson in the Gator Bowl on December 29 in Jacksonville, Florida.
Cedar Hill Girls Basketball To Compete in Mansfield ISD Tournament
The Cedar Hill High School Girls Basketball Team lost to Mansfield Timberview, 66-40. They'll compete in the Mansfield ISD Tournament, Thursday through Saturday.

Cedar Hill Boys Basketball to Host Cedar Hill Lions Club Tournament
Jerrin Goodwin made the All-South San Antonio Tournament Team as the Cedar Hill High School Boys Basketball Team reached the Consolation Championship Game.
The Longhorns won three of five games at the tournament, defeating a trio of DFW schools -- Burleson Centennial, Arlington Sam Houston and Dallas Bishop Lynch.
Cedar Hill (8-3) will host the Cedar Hill Lions Club Tournament, Thursday through Saturday.
