SCHOOL NEWS

Steck Marquee Sign

Steck has a new marquee sign. This is one of the many ways we communicate with our community. I think the picture does not do it justice - check it out in person. We do have it scheduled on a timer so as not to disturb our neighbors early in the morning, late at night, or on the weekends. Thank you for the generous donation from our PTA to fund part of this project.

Playground Equipment Survey - DUE TODAY

Steck is scheduled to have new playground equipment installed in the summer of 2025. Your input will help us with our planning. You can share your input about playground equipment through the survey link below. The survey closes today (October 25). Thank you!

Fall Dress Up Day 10/31

We are celebrating the fall season on Thursday, October 31. Students are invited to participate in our "Fall Dress Up Day". This day is designed to include all students and will include some fun, fall-themed activities in classrooms. Students can wear something fancy, a Halloween costume, Steck wear/school colors (navy/white), or something else. Students should be able to participate in the normal school day schedule with whatever they wear; attire should be something that can be worn to school and worn throughout the day. Students will not have time to change into another outfit or costume while at school. Costume masks, makeup, and accessories should be left at home. As always, clothing should be appropriate for school and not be a disruption to learning. Clothing and costumes that are not appropriate for elementary school will not be allowed during the school day.

Fall Parade

We are going to continue our tradition with a Fall Parade on October 31 at 2:00 p.m. (weather permitting). Families are welcome to visit Steck to watch the outdoor parade. We recommend walking to Steck or parking in the street due to limited parking in our lot. We ask that visitors spread out while here viewing the parade. The parade route is here. We will start at door 1 and go toward McCoy, around the back of the building, and back in door 12. Please find a spot that is comfortable for you anywhere on the parade route. Our parade is closely supervised by staff. When the parade is over, students, staff, and PTA party volunteers return to classrooms for the Fall Party. All others visitors are asked to leave at that time.

PTA Fall Party Snack

During our Fall Party on October 31, PTA will provide a snack of Oreos. The ingredient list and nutrition label can be found here. If you do not want your child to have this snack, please let your child's teacher know by October 25. Thank you!

Eagle Cart

Check out this information about how you can help with our eagle cart. Students work hard to earn eagle bucks and look forward to buying something special at eagle cart time.

Cocoa and Crafts

Steck PTA is excited to sponsor the first Cocoa and Crafts event on November 15 from 7:30-8:50am. All Steck students are invited to bring a special grownup for a fun morning before school at this drop-in open house event. Enjoy warm cocoa, crafting and an appearance from a special visitor! PTA Directory

Are you looking for a way to connect with another family? If so, please complete this optional PTA survey. One survey per child, please. The purpose may be to arrange a play date, invite to a party, or some other reason outside of school. (The school does not arrange play dates or allow for party invitation distribution.) Anyone is welcome to complete the survey but directory access will be limited to PTA members or donors. Please note this is optional and families cannot be required to share their personal information. Thank you for supporting the Steck PTA.
