John Jay High School Veterans 2024 Field of Honor Ceremony
Our Annual Field of Honor Ceremony represented Veterans and Honor guests who met at the High School on November 7th to tribute the sacrifices our Veterans have made and the challenges they have overcome in service to our nation. Their courage in the face of adversity, steadfastness in the line of duty, and their resilience in the aftermath of conflict are the cornerstones upon which our freedom stands. We gathered here today to honor that courage and to ensure that their contributions are never forgotten.
National Honor Society
Your child can request a tutor for non-AP courses by clicking on this link.
John Jay High School proudly inducted 105 exceptional students into its 66th National Honor Society on November 25th. These students were honored for their outstanding commitment to service, leadership, and academic achievement. Through their volunteer work, active participation in extracurricular activities, and dedication to inspiring others, they have contributed to fostering a culture of generosity and responsibility within the school community.
Congratulations to the newest members of the National Honor Society, listed below:
Humanities Research Project - Holiday Fundraiser
Amazon Wish List from the Mother Baby Unit at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. Please Click on the Picture Above for the Amazon Link or You Can Scan the QR Code
Naomi Siegel, a Junior at JJHS, is raising awareness and collecting donations for the Mother Baby Unit (MBU) at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, which supports incarcerated mothers and their babies. Naomi’s research on criminal justice reform highlighted the positive impact of these units, where babies can stay with their mothers for up to 18 months, fostering crucial bonds and reducing mental health issues later in life. The MBU also helps mothers re-enter society successfully, lowering recidivism rates.
Naomi is organizing a holiday drive to collect needed items for the facility, including baby clothes, books, strollers, and cribs. Donations can be made via an Amazon Wishlist linked to the photo above. Naomi encourages community members to donate and email her at nsiegel26@klschools.org to confirm their contributions, so she can track and acknowledge them. Donations should be sent directly to the Parenting Center at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility at 247 Harris Road, Bedford Hills, NY. 10507 to the attention of Rosemarie Lopez.
Thank you for supporting this important cause.

KLSD ArtsAlive
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Many thanks to all of you who have teamed up with KLSD ArtsAlive so far this year! We have promoted arts in education programming in the Katonah-Lewisboro School District since 1997 and has been a district-wide arts booster club for all KLSD schools since 2018. We believe that promoting the arts in our schools unifies our entire community. By supporting arts-related events and programming, we give everyone the opportunity to celebrate our talented students and teachers through the year.
Through fundraising efforts (and thanks to your support), KLSD ArtsAlive has been able to contribute funds in recent years to the Art Gallery, Pottery Wheels, the Sound Booth, Bandshells, etc for all to enjoy.
We also participate in Arts in Education programming by supporting our arts faculty in giving their classrooms the wonderful experience of immersion whether it be during Student Workshops at John Jay High School and Field Trips such as the annual one for the Lincoln Center for the Arts in NYC which is an absolute highlight of the students who are on this very special trip.
Without your financial support, we may not be able to offer these opportunities to our students. Throughout the year, you'll see us at the Theater performances, the Art Receptions, Concerts and other arts-related occasions which showcase the talents of our High School students. To find out more about us and see how you can become involved, please check out our website: https://klsdartsalive.org/
Thank you so much for your continued support of KLSD ArtsAlive.
Sincerely,
KLSD ArtsAlive Board
