A Message from Superintendent Joe Koch
We're one full week of school back from our winter break. I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing time away from school. Over the next several weeks, we have a couple of scheduled days off that I would like to remind you about. First, on Monday, January 13, students will not have school so our teachers can participate in professional development activities. Next, on Thursday, January 23, school will operate on a two-hour early release and there will be no school on Friday, January 24. Both of these days are to accommodate professional development and teacher work time with the end of the first semester.
The end of the first semester means we are nearly halfway done with our school year, but we have a lot of work left to do! Thank you to all of our staff for starting 2025 strong and I look forward to seeing all the great achievements of our students as the school year continues!
Dr. Joe Koch

Substitute Health Room Assistants Needed!
Are you interested in working in our schools, but not on a full-time basis? Do you enjoy working with kids? Consider serving as a substitute health room assistant in one of our schools!
Substitute health room assistants will receive training from our district nurses and will be contacted as needed. Some work once or twice a month, others more than that. While some medical experience is helpful, it is not mandatory. Substitutes must be CPR certified or willing to become certified. Hours and schools may vary.
If you are interested or would like more information, contact district nurse Noel Menghe (menghno@masd.k12.wi.us or 262.363.6292 x27515).

Preschool Screening is March 10
Do you have concerns about your child’s development? The Mukwonago Area School District will conduct preschool screening for children between the ages of 3-5 years old, or children not attending 5 year old kindergarten. If you have concerns about your child's development, you are encouraged to register. If the child is not an MASD resident, they must be in an MASD school aged program.
District staff will screen your child in the areas of cognitive development, personal/social skills, fine motor (small muscle), gross motor (large muscle), adaptive, speech/language, hearing, and vision. This screening is NOT 4K or 5K kindergarten screening. There is no cost, and takes approximately 45 minutes.
To schedule a required appointment, please contact Gina Berka at 262.363.6300 x24201, or by email at berkagi@masd.k12.wi.us.
