FACE November Information
Happy November, San Juan Unified colleagues! Below are November updates from our Family & Community Engagement (FACE) department:
The FACE Mobile’s newest community initiative, Community Care Hubs, launched in October and has been a terrific resource for families and schools! Check out information about these regional visits in this month’s FACE Forum. Staff and families can always visit www.sanjuan.edu/facemobile to see where it’s heading next and you can request your own FACE Mobile visit or other FACE outreach support by visiting https://bit.ly/FACEoutreach.
FACE's upcoming learning opportunities for families this month include our popular series workshops Parent Project and Family Leadership Academy, as well as the launch of our new digital “on demand” learning videos, which consist of pre-recorded learning workshops that families and staff can access and watch at any time. This month’s featured workshop video is Preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences and can be found on our website, along with other learning videos, under our “Family Engagement Video Library” tab. More information about this and our other family learning opportunities can be found in the FACE Forum, this month’s site mailers, and on our website (www.sanjuan.edu/familyed).

LCAP Thought Exchange
LCAP Help Needed
We need your help! We ask that you please encourage your staff and families to participate in the LCAP ThoughtExchange.
For your convenience, here is information that you can use in your upcoming newsletters, communications, and staff meetings. Thank you for your help with increasing voice and engagement across our district.
Share your input and help shape our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP)
You are invited to tell us what our schools are doing well and what we can do to better support our students and families. Your input will help inform the district’s 2025-26 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how services are provided to improve the performance of English learner, low income, and foster youth students as well as the performance of all students in the state priority areas. Share your thoughts now through Nov. 11 by participating in a ThoughtExchange at www.sanjuan.edu/LCAPinput.
Mobile Medical Services with Elica
Mobile Medical Services with Elica is back! They will be here 1-2 times a month to support with vaccinations, school entry exams, sports physicals, and more. Attached are some translated fliers to show what services are provided and what items to bring. They will be back October 22nd, November 12th and December 3rd and 17th. You will find their large mobile health vehicle in the parking lot closest to Bell between Greer and Encina.
Drop-Off Procedures
Safety is our number one priority, especially in the morning! Please review our Drop-Off Procedures:
Do not park your car or leave your vehicle unattended in the Fire Lane!
If you would like to park your car and walk your student into school, please park in the designated parking spots. To avoid disrupting the flow of traffic, please do not park your car in the driveway. Reference the map for the driveway that designates the drop off/pick up area.
Pick-Up Procedures for 1st-5th Grades
School ends at 2:10 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Thursdays, school ends at 12:45.
To address safety and the business of the end of the day, we will not call students out for early dismissals after 2:00 (12:35 on Thursdays).
We still have students who are being picked up more than 30 minutes after dismissal. Students who are frequently picked up 30 minutes or more after dismissal will be referred to Safe Schools.
