There are many exciting events happening at Linden and our Malden Community. Please be sure to connect with the Linden ClassDojo. SPECIAL EVENTS COMING UP!
SUPERINTENDENT'S TOWN HALL
Starting this week, Superintendent Dr. Sippel will begin holding a series of in-person “town hall” meetings with parents and caregivers across all of our schools. Dr. Sippel wants to meet with you and learn what you love about our district and what you think needs to be improved.
Snacks and childcare will be provided.
Please note that we are not able to offer remote participation during this round of meetings. If you are not able to attend the town hall scheduled at your child’s school, please attend an in-person conversation held at a different school. A schedule of the future town hall dates is listed below. The dates can also be found on the Superintendent’s Entry Plan webpage and are also attached to this message. All town hall meetings will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. unless indicated otherwise.
- Salemwood School- Tuesday, October 1
- Linden STEAM Academy- Wednesday, October 9
- Forestdale School - Wednesday, October 16
- Malden High School - Thursday, October 24
- Ferryway School - Wednesday, October 23
- Early Learning Center - Tuesday, October 29 (5:00 to 7:00 p.m.)
- SEPAC Meeting (at Salemwood) - Wednesday, October 30
TIGER TROT PTO FUNDRAISER
The Tiger Trot PTO Fundraiser is currently underway. This is the PTO's largest fundraiser of the year and if successful can potentially fund all PTO related activities and programs.
Programs and Activities such as:
- PBIS prizes and gift cards
- Buses for 1 Field Trip per Grade
- Field Day - New equipment, ice cream for everyone and fun activities
- Kindergarten and 8th Grade Moving On Ceremonies
- Mini Grants for Grade Specific events - example - 3rd Grade Book Club Books
- Funds for Classroom Libraries
- Fun and Exciting Assemblies
- Author Visits
- THE MORE WE RAISE THE MORE THEY CAN DO!
If you haven't already be sure to create a family account and share your student's fundraising goal with friends, family and your community.
Students and families that are participating can win a variety of prizes, incentatives and new this year... MILESTONE PRIZES ... These prizes will be rewarded to all students when the entire school hits specific funds. 1st MILESTONE PRIZES is at $5,000 all students will get a day with extra recess!! $10,000 Friday Popsicle day and more!
This online Fundraiser runs until Friday, October 11th with a Tiger Trot Celebration Dance Party! This event is held at the Linden Plaza and Field from 6-8 p.m. Music, Dancing, Pizza, Fall Treats and Raffle Prizes!

Safety and Health Reminders
New Safety Protocol - Reminder
For the safety of our students and staff - Please remember to use the Wescott Street Entrance during school hours (8:25-1:45 p.m.). The circle driveway will be closed off during school hours for classes, outside gym and recess.
Cold and Flu Season
When is my child sick enough to stay home from school?”
This is not always an easy question to answer! We hope that these tips can help!
The following is a list of conditions and symptoms that indicate when you should keep your child home.
They include, but are not limited to:
- Fever greater than 100 F – Your child may return when their fever has been gone for over 24 hours without medication, and if no other symptoms are present.
- Vomiting/ Diarrhea – Your child may return when symptom free for greater than 24 hours without medication or other symptoms
- Rash- Your child may return with a physician’s note that it is not contagious.
- Strep infections of any kind, strep throat, ringworm, conjunctivitis, or impetigo – These are all contagious infections and must be treated with medication for at least 24 hours before returning to school
- Head Lice – Your child may return after treatment; and no live lice present. – must follow up with the school nurse upon returning to school.
- Bad cold, with a very runny nose or bad cough, especially if it has kept the child awake at night – your child may return when symptoms resolve.
- Pain should be taken seriously, especially in young children. Earaches, toothaches, sore throats and headaches should be evaluated
- COVID positive, please stay home while experiencing symptons. Student should wear mask for five days upon their return.
