Tumuaki Korero
Kia ora e te whānau,
It’s hard to believe we’re already nearing the end of Term 1!
At Spring Creek School, we encourage our students to develop independence in all aspects of their school day. Please support us by ensuring your child carries their own bag into school, unpacks it themselves, and gets ready for the day independently.
We love celebrating our students who consistently demonstrate aroha by showing our school values every day. One special way we do this is through Baking with Miss B! Each week, six tamariki will be chosen by the teaching team to take part in this fun and rewarding experience.
We also have some exciting news! Thanks to the generosity of KidsCan NZ, your child will be receiving a brand-new soft shell jacket for winter. These will help keep our tamariki warm as the colder months approach. KidsCan is also providing school shoes for students who need them—if your child requires a pair, please see Ness in the office to arrange the right size.
In addition to clothing, KidsCan continues to support our school with snacks such as fruit pottles, muesli bars, and scroggin to help top up morning tea and lunches. We are incredibly grateful for this support and know it will make a real difference to our school community.
Looking ahead to Term 2, we’re excited to launch our weekly whānau hui, held on Thursday afternoons. This will be a great opportunity to connect over a cup of tea and some biscuits, while also learning how you can support the school—whether through fundraising, coordinating sports, or helping to organise events. We’d also love to have whānau share their knowledge and skills with our tamariki. If you can teach weaving, knitting, carving, bike maintenance—or anything else—please come and see me for a chat.
We are also looking forward to expanding our Te Taiao sessions by taking small groups of students out in the school van to explore the environment around us. More information about this exciting opportunity will be shared early in Term 2.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Me mahi tahi tātau mō te oranga o te katoa.
Working together for all to succeed, nobody is left behind

Legion Taekwon-Do is a dynamic martial art, and it is also an exciting sport suitable for all ages and abilities. Classes are for everyone from beginners to advanced levels.
Focused mind, disciplined body and pure spirit through community participation is our motto. Keeping this in mind, we encourage individual growth through a family feel atmosphere whilst practicing Taekwon-Do techniques.
