FORESTS FOR WATERTOWN
A Working Group of Trees for Watertown

Let's Plant a Forest!
SATURDAY OCT 26, 10am - 3pm
Can you help with any of the big or little tasks, before, during, or after the Oct 26 Planting Day? If you can volunteer, please...
We especially need Guides!
Planting Day, October 26
Set up 7-10am • Plant 10am-3pm • Pack up 3-5pm.
What to Expect
- Check in at the Registration Tent, sign a Waiver.
- Watch a demonstration of how to plant seedling trees.
- Team up: each team has 2 people so one can hold the tree straight as the other fills in soil.
- Go with a Guide to a planting spot where everything you need is in place.
- Enjoy the four seedling trees and shrub in your planting spot, plant with care.
Where to Park
Consider biking – we'll have extra bike racks.
- On George Street, park only on the schoolyard side, not the residential side.
- Along Lowell Avenue by the School's main entrance, staff parking spaces are open for forest participants.
- Side streets (marked in pink here) generally allow 2 hour parking, so within a 2 block area there should be plenty of parking. Please put a note in the windshield: FOREST
- Spaces at DPW will also be available and marked out as Forest Parking.
What to Bring
- Bring layers of warm clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.
- Bring sun protection and your favorite gardening gloves (if you have 'em).
- Bring a water bottle.
Everything else is supplied: trees, tools, gloves, and fun.
