Principal's Message
Dear Lincoln Families,
Can you believe we only have 12 more days left of Trimester 1? With that said, our Leopards in general education (K-6) will be starting round 2 of the iREADY assessment the week of October 29. Testing will last until November 8. Please encourage your child to do their best on the test.
I am excited to announce we have a lot of parent/school activities coming up. Please continue to read below to see all the amazing things happening at Lincoln.
Coming up on Thursday, October 17, we have The Great Shakeout. The California ShakeOut is an annual earthquake preparedness drill in California. At 10:17, we will have students practice to drop, cover and hold. In addition, we will practice evacuating procedures and continue to educate the students in case of a real emergency. Please speak with your child and discuss the importance of Emergency Preparedness. Please watch the videos below with your children at home.
Lastly, I want to remind everyone that Lincoln holds student safety as our highest priority. In order to exercise an abundance of caution, we will NOT be allowing Treats or candies from parents during the school hours. Please do not send treats of any kind on Halloween. I appreciate your support in this manner.
Thank you for your support and dedication. Together Everyone Achieves More #TEAM
Sincerely,
Mrs. Perry

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
October: SELF-MANAGEMENT: Mindfulness and Stress Management
During the month of October, your child’s SEL instruction will focus on Self-Management skills learning about mindfulness practices and stress management. Stress can affect health, behavior, thoughts, and feelings. Recognizing and developing strategies for managing stress in healthy ways can lead to life-long physical and psychological well-being. This month, students will engage in activities to help them effectively regulate their emotions, control impulses, and manage stress. These activities help build emotional awareness, reflection, and calming skills.
November: SELF-MANAGEMENT: Self-Motivation and Organizational Skills
During the month of November, your child’s SEL instruction will dive deeper into Self-Management focusing on self-motivation and organizational skills to help your child set and achieve goals. Students will also learn to use positive self-talk to recover from a setback or challenge.
School Councils and Parent Information
Parents are invited to attend the meetings of the School Site Council (SSC), GATE, Special Education, and Site English Learner Parent Advisory Council (SELPAC) scheduled several times per year. Flyers and Class Dojo announcements are sent home several days before each meeting.
