Freshmen Only

Students will arrive and have the chance to walk the school and gain some familiarity with where classes are located. We will all gather in the theater at 7:45 to go over a few things. Then students will have the chance to go to each class for about 15 minutes.

10:45 - students will be dismissed.

Welcome Back!

All,

School starts this week! We are excited for the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year and I certainly hope you are too. The summer has been full of some great changes for HHS:

1. We have a new roof!! (please pardon the mess as they finish things up)

2. 4 water bottle water fountains were installed

3. Fresh landscaping across the front of the building (Thank you Ben and Amanda Howell for your hard work cleaning things up and Mr. John Louallen for donating mulch AGAIN this year!)

4. Eagle Scout and Harpeth Graduate, Jared Armstrong, created an outdoor eating area for school staff

5. New carpet in the library

We have had a lot going on in and around the building these last two months.

Hope you can make it to Open House on August 9 5-7pm!

- THE WINDOW FOR SIGNING-UP FOR SENIOR EARLY DISMISSAL IS CLOSED

STUDENT ID BADGES

This year ALL students will be REQUIRED to wear ID badges. The picture for the badge will be taken on Friday, August 10 during the school day.

Students are expected to wear their badges around their necks using a lanyard. HHS Student Council plans to provide a lanyard for each student.

The first badge is complimentary, lost badges will cost $5.

Senior Early Dismissal

Seniors approved to leave early will be required to stay until 2:45 this week. Seniors will meet with admin and counselors to discuss student expectations for this privilege.

Parking Pass

Parking Passes are still available and will be sold during lunch

Students must bring a completed form with a copy of driver's license and current insurance.

Lock - We will be selling the lock for your student's locker the first week of school during lunch.

Tardies and Absences

1. Tardies - See below for the tardy matrix. Students are responsible for arriving to school, and class, on time. If a student is tardy to school or class the consequences listed will be implemented. New Tardy Procedure Select Here

2. Absences - Student attendance at school is required and important for learning. Make sure your student comes to school every day. If absent, students must have a note to be excused. 10 consecutive unexcused and 15 total unexcused could prevent a student from getting a drivers license or result in a revocation of one's drivers license.

3. Absence or Tardy - Parking on campus is a privilege and can be lost. Students consistently tardy or absent could lose their parking privileges. Students parking on school property without permission may result in towing at the owner's expense.

Car Riders

Car rider drop off and pick-up is in the back of the building. The front driveway is reserved for Bus rider drop off (7:15-7:45) and pick-up (2:30-3:00). Do not drop students off or attempt to pick them up in the front of the building during those times.

School Safety

Schools should be safe places for students to learn and staff to educate your child(ren). HHS is continuing to ensure the building and our students are safe. Our greatest asset is our students, parents and community. If you have a safety concern please share it. You are welcome to call and you can email the Cheatham County email tip line - tip@ccstn.org.

We continue to have various drills throughout the school year to practice procedures to help everyone know and understand what is expected from both students and adults.
