Principal's Message:
December 2024
Dear Parents,
I hope this message finds you in great spirits as we stride through an eventful season at Athens Middle/High School. I am thrilled to share the resounding success of our recent presentation of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." Our students displayed incredible talent, dedication, and teamwork, bringing the magic of this story to life on stage. Their performances were nothing short of spectacular, and I am immensely proud of each participant and their remarkable acting abilities. From our youngest and newest actors to our most seasoned, this year's performance did not disappoint. An extra Thank You to Mr. and Mrs. Triebold for all of their tireless efforts in putting together this yearβs grand performance.
As we celebrate this musical triumph, we also embrace the beginning of our winter sports season. Our athletes have been diligently training and are eager to showcase their skills on the courts and wrestling mats. I encourage you to join us in cheering on our teams as they demonstrate sportsmanship, perseverance, and teamwork throughout their competitions.
In addition, I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome our winter coaches, Mike Baer, NEW Girls Varsity head coach, Jeramie Penney, returning Boys Varsity head coach, and Jodi Gauerke, returning Varsity Wrestling head coach. In addition to these sports, we also welcome our NEW Bluejay Cheer Squad, under the direction of Coach Danielle Gauerke. We appreciate all of our coaches and advisors as we know that they provide unique learning opportunities for our students that complement our classroom educational experience.
As we jump into the hustle and bustle that this time of year brings, with all the sporting events and musical performances, we ask that you remember to cherish every moment. Our kids are only young once and time with them is precious. Not only do they appreciate the time you spend with them, the memories you make along the way are priceless and will last a lifetime.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. Your encouragement plays a significant role in our students' success. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Wishing you all the best this Thanksgiving season! May we count our blessings twice this time of year.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Juli Gauerke-Peter
