From the Principal
Hillendale families,
I hope you are having a great weekend and that the many of you that managed to make it to the Harlem Wizards Game last night enjoyed watching Mr. Ricci, Miss Ricci & Mrs. Blaisse show off their skills! Thank you for representing HES in the game, you three!
I've had the pleasure of welcoming hundreds of parents as "Mystery Readers" here at Hillendale over the years. For the first time ever, I got to be the Mystery Reader at my son's school in his kindergarten class last week. Knowing how special it was to him, I simply wanted to thank all of you that have taken time away from your busy lives to come read to our children in their classrooms. Your children (and all of us) appreciate you!
A special plug for our Spring PTO Adult Fundraiser "Parents Night Out" coming up soon on April 4th. Please see more details below including graphics created by the students in Mrs. Blaisse's Graphic Design Club! The annual event is truly one of my favorite nights of the year! Hope to see you there.
School will be closed for teacher in-service on Monday, March 31st.
Have a great week!
Josh Leight

Play Club
After-school play-club will start on Friday 3/28 running every Friday that school is in full-day session, from dismissal to 4:45 pm. This is a child-led play club supervised by parent volunteers; the aim is to allow children the opportunity for outdoor free-play.
Children who wish to participate on a week-by-week basis can sign up here.
Adult volunteers can also sign up to help supervise (must have clearances).
We currently only have 2 parent volunteers to be present for Play Club so we are only accepting a max of 12 children in Play Club. If Play Club is full, parents are still welcome to join with their child(ren).
We are looking for additional parent volunteers to be present during Play Club. If we have additional support, we can open Play Club to more students. Please email Kelly at kellygentile2@gmail.com if you are interested in helping or have any questions.
Play club is an outdoor all-weather club, please send your children in appropriate attire, however, games (and shelter!) will be available in the pavilion when the weather is inclement. This is an electronic device-free club please leave them at home/ make sure your child knows to have them turned off (as per district policy).
