Hello SES Community,

It was a great week at Shoreham! Our first Coffee with the Principal will be next Wednesday Sept 18th at 8am here at Shoreham Elementary and we look forward to welcoming you to our Open House on October 2nd.

I have included some photos from my time reading the book "I promise" to our students that I mentioned last week.

Let's keep our students with allergies safe! It is our desire to promote an allergy safe and equitable environment in addition to promoting a healthy lifestyle for all students and staff.

Please remind your students:

• Never share food

• Always wash their hands before and after eating

Teachers can share different ideas on how to celebrate special occasions using non-food items and activities. We discourage food for class celebrations or rewards.

For birthdays, please reach out to your classroom teacher BEFORE sending in food to clarify if there are any food allergies and plan in advance what can be sent in.

There are several reasons for this approach:

• This is the safest way to keep students with life threatening allergies or food intolerance from an accidental exposure or ingestion

• We want to find more healthy and active ways to celebrate the special days in our lives at school.

• Not all families are able to provide whole class snacks and this can be inequitable.

Thank you for helping us keep meal times and celebrations equitable and safe!

Please remember:

1. To return your school forms as soon as possible to our front office!

2. Send your child with proper footwear for school (including sneakers for PE).

Due to growing instances of phishing scams and concern for potential hacks of our computer networks, we will be removing all staff email addresses from our website directory. This change comes at the direction of our Technology Dept and we join many K-12 schools, colleges, and businesses in making this change. Staff phone numbers will still be available in our staff directory. You may also request a teacher’s email by phone or by calling our front office 802-897-7181. Thank you for your understanding as we balance family communication needs with tech privacy and safety.

We have completed 3 weeks of soccer and only have 6 more practices. The kids worked hard on skills Wednesday.
