The results yielded Friday as the most popular day of the week. Therefore, beginning today and moving forward, our district InfoShare will be sent to our ZESD 6 school community on Fridays.

Last weekend, ZESD 6 middle school choir students performed at the Veterans Day celebration at the Chicago Wolves hockey game. Participating students had the opportunity to sing with other school groups and to experience a great hockey game.

Illinois School Board Members Appreciation Day: Friday, November 15th!
At the November 11, 2024 school board meeting, Zion Elementary School District 6 celebrated School Board Appreciation Day, recognizing our board members for their dedication and leadership to our schools. Each member received a certificate of acknowledgment and a token of appreciation in the form of delicious fall cakes, symbolizing our gratitude for their commitment to guiding and supporting our schools.

Wilma Mankiller was named the first female chief of the Cherokee Nation in 1985. She spearheaded various health and education initiatives and is credited with boosting tribal membership. She also helped establish the federal Office of Tribal Justice. Her lifelong commitment to activism was rewarded

Spotted At ZESD 6
- Elmwood third graders were honored to host veteran speakers on Veterans Day, who shared powerful stories of their military service and personal reasons for enlisting. The veterans engaged with students in their classrooms in the morning, making it a memorable experience.
West Elementary held its monthly VIP Lunch, giving students the opportunity to enjoy a meal with a special guest from the community. This month, the guest of honor was Robin Smith, Director of the Zion-Benton Public Library.
