Visit to the Mansion House
Eight children were selected by their classmates and teachers for their kindness and care towards others. The children were nominated for the Lord Mayor's Junior Kindness Heroes Awards and they went to meet him at the Mansion House in Dublin on Friday to receive a beautiful certificate. Congratulations to Filip, Aryana, Blake, Alicia, John, Iasmina, Saba and Sherwin. And our thanks to Claire Yeates who coordinated the nominations with our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.
Athletics Competition in Santry
Well done to Anes, Constantin, Sorin, Augustin, Deizi, Nadine, Victory and Milly who represented our school at the annual athletics competitions in Santry this year. The children competed against other children from across Dublin at Morton Stadium on Friday.
Our congratulations to Constantin who came 3rd in his heat, and especially the four girls, who worked together as a team and came in 2nd place in the finals of the relay race. This is an amazing accomplishment - we are so proud!
6th Class - Carlingford Adventure Centre
6th Class had a brilliant day at Carlingford Adventure Centre on Friday. They were very brave and took part in lots of activities and were also excellently behaved and listened to all of the adults looking after them. Huge thanks to James O'Shea, Sean Gallagher, Aoife Kilkenny, Brid Brophy and Lina Kolokolnikova who accompanied the children on what is always a very long day!
Minister for Education Visit - 11th June - Save the Date!
The Minister for Education's visit and our ceremony to mark our change in patronage has now been confirmed for Tuesday, 11th June at 12.00 p.m. All families are invited to join us.
5th Class - European Project with Fighting Words
5th Class took part in a European Project with the writing workshop 'Fighting Words' about their neighbourhood, city and world with other schools in Ireland and schools in Italy. Take a look at the video below to see a little of their work, or click on the link to read their shared writing.
Attendance last week and this week
As the weather gets better and we head into June, it is just as important as ever to come to school each day. There are lots of activities and special events taking place that your child needs to both prepare for and take part in. If they are missing, they miss out.
Overall attendance in May was quite good, but this week, attendance was much poorer than in previous weeks. Let's all work together to keep a focus on getting to school on time each day for June.
Summer Camp
We are running a summer camp for the first two weeks of July. Your child will have a letter next week to express interest in a place for the two weeks. We will have to prioritise children who can come for both weeks.
