Welcome back e te whānau!
It was so lovely to see all the excited and happy faces returning to our gorgeous kura. We hope everyone enjoyed some lovely whānau time over the break and now are ready for a great term 3.
I would like to welcome Vanessa Beck and Jade Mathijssen to the team. Vanessa has taken over from Cara as admin and learning assistant and Jade joins us as a Learning Assistant in Ti Tipu. We are excited to have you both on the team!
This week we have our Matariki Celebration and breakfast from 7am on Friday. All whānau are welcome to join in our celebrations with Matariki activities from 7-8.30am and enjoy a hot breakfast that will be served between 8-8.30am. There will also be hot drinks available to purchase (cash only) from the Hazbeanz Coffee Cart from 7am.
There will also be an opportunity for you to share how our school values might look at home and what you think they might or should look like at school because we value our home and school connection. There will be information coming home before Friday but if you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me.
Starting next week, Nga Whetū will be leading the school in Jump Jam at 9 - 9.10am and whānau are more than welcome to stay and join in!
We are enjoying the delicious kai we receive as part of the Ka ora Ka ako Healthy Lunches Programme, catered for us by Ngati Rarua. We encourage our tamariki to try the kai provided, showing resilience sometimes when it is something different to what they are used to. When there are leftover lunches, students are able to take these home. It is important that the containers are put into recycling and we are happy for the containers to come back to school for this to happen.
We are very excited to share that we have received funding from the Marlborough District Council for our ‘Growing Trees, Growing Children’ Native Plantings Project. We are lucky enough to have the support of Tim Newsham, who will be overseeing the project, supported by Grandad Phil. We are going to need the support of our amazing school and wider community to help with the planting. We will let you know when this will be. If anyone has a post-hole auger that we could borrow for this project, please let us know.
Have a fantastic week everyone.
Ngā mihi
