Safety First! Clear Back Packs Required this School Year, and Provided by RPS!
Hopefully you have heard by now that STUDENTS are required to have CLEAR backpacks next year. Students are allowed to carry a small pouch for personal items and a lunchbox. See the full policy here:
https://www.rvaschools.net/schools-office/safety-and-security/clear-backpacks
RPS WILL provide one CLEAR backpack for every student!
We gave out clear backpacks to students at Open House. If you still need one, you will get one of the first day of school. Keep in mind that students will not be able to bring in a regular backpack. If your child does not have a clear backpack yet, either have them carry their belongings in hand, or send their belongings in a shopping bag and we will provide a backpack!
Bus Routes and Bus Rider Information:
Bus routes can be found on the RPS Website:
www.rvaschools.net (If you have not bookmarked this website, you should!!!)
Reminder: K-2 gr. students need to have an adult present with them at the bus stop.
At the end of the day a grownup must be at the bus stop for all K-2 graders. If there is no adult, the student will be brought back to school for pickup by the caregiver.
ALL K, 1st and 2nd grade students will be sent home with a "transportation lanyard" on Monday. Please fill out the card and have your student wear it back to school on Tuesday. We will attach the card to your child's back pack once it is returned.

Fox Families have 2 affordable options for aftercare: The Fox YMCA or Randolph Community Center.

If you are registered for Randolph Community Center**, aftercare begins on Monday, Aug. 26th.
**It appears that there WILL be a bus from Clark Springs to RCC. Details are forthcoming. (I apologize for giving conflicting information---we were told at first there would not be a bus. Now, I am being told there WILL be a bus after all!)

Our PTA Coordinates and Supplements afterschool enrichment opportunities for students. See below for the Fall class offerings, dates, and cost. Families that are able, are strongly encouraged to pay extra to support our scholarships. There are half-priced scholarships available for those that want their child to have the opportunity, but have a financial need. Please take advantage of this opportunity!
Registration begins August 19. Questions? Email Abby Ritt at foxafterschool@gmail.com.
Please register promptly on the 19th if you're planning to take advantage of need-based, half-priced tuition, as there are a limited number of these spots available across all programs. This support is made possible thanks to PTA fundraising efforts and your contributions! Opportunities to further grow our scholarship fund will be available when you register your child.
