Autism Acceptance Week - April 7-11

We have many students in our school community with autism.
During this week our teachers will be educating our students about autism.
A special thanks goes out to Ms. Miandoabi for her leadership on creating this spirit week in support of our neurodivergent students.
PARK AVENUE - THE GREAT READING RACE!!!
WE HIT OUR GOAL!!! - 11, 173 Books So Far!!!
SINCE WE SURPASSED OUR 10,000 BOOK CHALLENGE, WE WILL BE HAVING A BIG CELEBRATION OF READING!!!
PLEASE TELL YOUR CHILDREN NOT TO STOP READING. THE VACATION IS A GREAT TIME TO CONTINUE TO READ SINCE THE CLASS WITH THE MOST BOOKS READ WILL GET A PIZZA PARTY AND CLASS MOVIE SO THE COMPETITION IS STILL ON!!!
In the morning on APRIL 25, we will be inviting a number of Port Chester dignitaries to read to our students. In the afternoon, we're planning to bring the entire school over to the PCHS track and stands to enjoy a celebratory READING RACE on the field. AP Elsy and I, along with some teachers, will be running a relay race in Inflatable Costumes for a fun way to celebrate the students' efforts.
This event, while sure to be fun, is not open to families due to security reasons, but we'll be sure to share out photos and videos of the fun.
Also, the highest 3 readers in the school, will be invited down onto the field to PIE ME IN THE FACE and they may be invited to run the race with us...

SPRING PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
On Tuesday 4/22/25, Park Avenue will be bringing in professional photographers to take spring photos of your children IF YOU CHOOSE. This opportunity is open to anyone who chooses to sign up, but will only be provided to students whose families have opted into the program and purchased a photo package.

PARK AVENUE SHOE COLLECTION

Upcoming Concert Information - Tuesday, May 13, 2025
Our spring concert has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Port Chester Middle School. The third-grade concert will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the fourth and fifth-grade concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m. It is expected that all third, fourth, and fifth-grade students attend the concert.
Please note: Parents must attend the concert with their children. Children are not allowed to be dropped off and picked up afterward.
Third Grade will arrive at 5:00 pm for a 5:30 concert. Third grade families, unless they have siblings in fourth or fifth grade will leave after the third grade concert. Third grade students must bring their recorders to the concert and return them to school the next day
Fourth and Fifth Graders will arrive at 6:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. concert. Upon their arrival, students will report to the cafeteria.
Important Traffic Update - MORNING DROP OFF
Morning Drop Off Guidelines:
Drop off lane is the lane closest to the curb. Please pull up as far as possible and my staff will help students get out of the car. Please stay in your car.
If you need to do a quick drop off in the morning before 8am, please pull forward towards College Avenue and pull over to the curb before letting your child out.
Please do not stop or drop off from the through lane of traffic.

Afternoon Pickup Guidelines:
Please do not double and triple park in front of the school.
If you need to park and leave your car, you MUST be in the lane closest to the curb. Parking is allowed in this lane only.
You may stop and wait in the second lane but you must stay in your car so that you can move your car if necessary.
Please NEVER leave your car running and unattended.
