A Note from Mrs. Kopperud and Ms. Abreo
Dear Adventure Families,
Happy New Year! The first few days back with students have gone really well! We've been pleasantly surprised at how easily even the preschoolers and kindergarteners have adjusted back into routines!
Staff are putting the finishing touches on quarter 2 report cards and we will send them home with students next Wednesday, January 15. Please check your student's backpack!
Adventure staff are excited to announce that we will be hosting the Latin Grammy-winning music group, 123 Andrés on Tuesday, January 21! This dynamic bilingual duo are known for their catchy songs and dances that teach students language--both English and Spanish! All PK-3 students will join us for what promises to be an incredible assembly. We are so fortunate to bring this opportunity to our students, as a result of our successful fall fundraiser. Thank you, families!
Saludos,
Sarah Kopperud

2025-26 Enrollment and Annual Update
January is when enrollment season begins in Mapleton. All families will need to complete the annual update process between January 13 and February 14. This is also the priority placement window for students in the district. You can watch this video to help you complete the process; if you need help, don't hesitate to reach out to our front office staff.
If you have or know a student entering PK, Kindergarten, or 7th grade, it is time to select a school for next year! Mapleton hosts two Discovery Fairs (January 21 and January 30). Families can learn about each of Mapleton school at a Fair. Schools are also offering several tours in the weeks to come, you can find more details here.
Adventure's enrollment flyer can be found below!
ACCESS Testing: English Proficiency Assessments
Each January across the state of Colorado, students who are identified as English learners take the ACCESS test. This standardized exam measures students' academic English language skills.
Adventure students will take the ACCESS tests on Wednesday, January 22 for grades 1, 2, 4, 5, & 6, Thursday, January 23 for 3rd grade, and all grades on Wednesday, January 29. Kindergarteners will take the assessment individually during the month of January.
Please read more about this assessment (English information, Spanish information).
January is for Inclusion!
Our Effective Learner Habit for the Month of January is INCLUSION. Regardless of Race, Sexual Orientation, Gender Expression, Gender Identity, we want our Adventure community members to feel valued, respected, safe, included, and more importantly, that they belong here. As part of celebrating INCLUSION, we recognize PRIDE month in January. Pride means everyone deserve to be valued, respected, and supported.
Extracurricular Clubs Update
From Ms. Xóchitl Ruiz, CCLC Grant Coordinator
We are almost ready to kick off clubs for the Winter Season! Winter clubs begin next week! Just a few things we need to communicate:
If you signed up your student for a club that begins at 4:30 pm, but is not in a club at 3:30 pm, you must pick up your student and return them to Adventure Elementary at 4:30 pm so they can attend their club. We do not have the availability for students to wait until their club begins as we have limited staff available.
If there is no school, we do not have clubs.
If your student misses 3 times, we will remove them from the program and we will reach out to students that are on the waitlist.
We still have room to register for some clubs. If you are interested in joining Math Club, The "Any" Book Club, Spelling Bee Prep Club, Creative Jewelry Club, Power Hour with 4-H (4:30 pm session), and Chess Club, please reach out to Xochitl Ruiz so we can get your student registered
We also have 2 clubs that will begin in March, the Running Club and Gardening Club - so keep an eye out for registration on those two clubs.
What an exciting time for us!! Please do not hesitate to reach out to Xochitl Ruiz (Email: ruizx@mapleton.us/Phone: 303-853-1445.
