Week of February 2, 2025
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear EHTHS Families,
As we move into another week, we have plenty to celebrate and look forward to! From course registration and counselor appreciation to outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, and the arts, our students continue to shine.
Sophomore course registration began this week and our dedicated guidance counselors are working diligently to ensure students are on the right path for success. This week, we also celebrate National School Counselor’s Week! Please take a moment to join us in recognizing and appreciating our incredible counselors: Mr. Santiago, Ms. Giannetta, Ms. Charlton, Ms. Leonetti, Ms. Musacchio, Ms. Comunale, Ms. Harris, Ms. Wexler, Ms. Barnes, Ms.DiMattia and Ms. Elko. Their support and commitment make a lasting impact on our students every day.
Our furry friends, Charlie and Marty, made a memorable visit to Ms. Sharpe’s preschool class at Slaybaugh Primary School, bringing smiles and joy to our youngest learners.
A huge congratulations to our Mock Trial team, the Legal Eagles, as they wrapped up their season in the Semi-finals! We are incredibly proud of their hard work and are looking forward to their participation in the Princeton Moot Court this spring. We would like to thank the Atlantic County Bar Association for supporting our team and volunteering their time to judge competitions.
This week, our boys basketball players and cheerleaders were recognized during senior night. It was a great night topped off with a win over ACIT. In track news, our 4x800 relay team continues to make history, breaking the school record yet again. Congratulations to Paige Pacquing, Abby DeCosta, Bithania Andermariam, and Devyn Per! Boys swimming secured a second-round playoff victory over Lenape and will face GCIT on Monday, while the girls team will host Vineland. A special shoutout to Cami Bird (2nd place), Samirah Duron (3rd place), and Cori Bird (3rd place) for their outstanding performances at the Girls Creek Classic!
The "Hearts in Wonderland" Dance will be hosted by the Classes of 2027 & 2028 on Saturday, February 22 from 6 – 9 p.m. in the EHTHS Cafeteria. Tickets are $10 and will be sold during lunches through February 14. Students must arrive by 6:30 p.m.; late arrivals will not be permitted. Once students leave the dance, they may not reenter. We look forward to an unforgettable evening!
Get ready for a rockin’ performance! "All Shook Up" will bring the legendary music of Elvis Presley to the EHTHS stage from March 14–16. Tickets go on sale Monday, February 17, at 3 p.m. at ehths.booktix.com. Consider supporting our production by purchasing an ad for our Playbill (linked). Submissions are due by February 14.

Staffulty of the Month
#DAY 1
The High School will be continuing with this bullying-prevention program for the 2024-25 school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion, outline expectations for behavior toward each other and the responsibility to intervene, report and to reach out for help if individuals observe bullying behavior.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams.
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly.
This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring--this notion is called being an Upstander--an #EHTUPSTANDER. Hit the play button below and see for yourself! 🤩
Has YOUR student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
🌟 THE FRESHMEN & SOPHOMORES ARE TIED WITH THE MOST #EHTUPSTANDER PLEDGES!🌟
