Greetings Evergreen Community,

One of the traditions that has been in place at Evergreen for at least the past 10 years is a quarterly celebration that, most recently, has been called the BOSS Bash. Originally, B.O.S.S. was an acronym associated with the Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) program that was in place at Evergreen. B.O.S.S. captured the characteristics that the Evergreen community was working to develop in students (Bring It, Own It, Show It, Share it). Over the past six months, a group of staff members who are a part of the Climate, Culture, and Voice Committee have been reviewing some of these systems and have decided to retire the B.O.S.S. acronym - hence, the shift from BOSS Bucks to Evergreens. An additional outcome of this committee’s work is the retirement of the event title, BOSS Bash. Moving forward, this quarterly celebration will be called Nest Fest / Nido Fest.

For those of you who are new to the Evergreen community, Nest Fest / Nido Fest is a quarterly event of which the purpose is to bring students and staff together to have fun. For the final 75 ish minutes of the school day, students and staff come together, to eat food, dance, play in the gym, sing karaoke, make bracelets, play games, and generally have a great time. The first Nest Fest/Nido Fest will occur on Friday, November 22nd. All students will be able to attend the entirety of Nest Fest / Nido Fest with the exception of students who have demonstrated significantly unsafe behavior during Quarter 1 (up until November 15th). We are looking forward to this new era of celebration within the Evergreen community and are hopeful that all students will have a great time.
