Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.
Snapshot News:
German Exchange Students
A group of German students from Velbert are on a visit to Corby this week to find out more about the town they are twinned with. As part of the trip the students visited CTS to gain an insight into what school life is like in England and how it differs from their own.
Sixth Form Mock Interviews
IT solutions company XMA recently visited CTS to conduct a series of mock interviews with Year 12 students.In preparation for the interviews the students selected a job or degree course and staff from the company then interviewed the students before giving them feedback.
BWT Great Bake Off
We are down to the last 8 and this week they produced mini victoria sponges. Star baker this week was Tamiska in Year 8.
Stars of the Week:
- Mrs Arnold has nominated Harry and Dominika from 9S, Abbie and Rohan from 9C and Adam and Hanna from 9T for being great ambassadors for the school and supporting the German exchange visitors.
- Mrs Ferns has nominated Sonny 8S for his fantastic theme park design in Maths.
- Miss Watt has nominated all Year 9 students for taking part in the German exchange visit, particularly those who acted as tour guides and Cory and Emman in 8T for throwing themselves into each activity and working really well with their German peers.
- Miss Fenner has nominated Liam and Taylor 10S for good verbal contributions and hard word in English. Miss Fenner would also like to say well done to all students in Year's 7-10 who have been nominated as Literacy Leaders. We are looking forward to them working with the English department to help support their peers.
- Mr Godfrey has nominated Jamie 11T for his helpfulness.
- Mrs Morgan has nominated Caitlin 10T for consistently good work in Art.

Warhammer Club

A group of Year 7 students took part in the BWT Carnegie Celebration this week.

Attendance Matters
Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.
Whole School Attendance
Whole school attendance this week is 95.49%. just short of our target.
Best Tutor Group
10T are the best tutor group this week with 99.2%, well done to Miss Connellan and your form group.
House Winner
House winners this week are S house, well done Stephenson and Swirles!
Reminders:
- Parents of Year 11 students will have received a letter regarding the end of year arrangements for student.
- The Prom 2018 is on Friday 29th June and a letter with final arrangements will be sent out next week.
