Principal's Message
Hello Tubman Families,
Our students are complete with state assessments! We are so proud of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students and our staff testing team!
We have four weeks of school remaining with lots more learning, fun, and celebration. Our school is such a special place and we are excited to invite our families to join in on the fun by volunteering at our Book Fair or Field Day next week!

- Book Fair: Students will browse on Monday and Tuesday. Teachers will contact families to inform of the class day to buy either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
Register Your Child for Kindergarten
Will your child be 5 years old by September 1, 2024? Register for kindergarten today!
Registration will be online through the ParentVUE portal. If families are new to MCPS, they will need to create a ParentVue account here. For more information about eligibility and the registration process, they can visit the MCPS Kindergarten Enrollment web page.
Summer School
Sign up for Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO)!!!
We would like to invite your child to join us this summer at Harriet Tubman for our Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO SAIL) program!
Our ELO SAIL program will run July 8th - August 2nd. The hours are 9:30am - 2:00pm, and your child will engage in literacy, math, science/social studies, and social-emotional learning throughout the day. Transportation and meals are provided.

Spring Book Fair
The Tubman Tiger's PTA Scholastic Book Fair is coming! SAVE THE DATE for May 20-24th and get ready to empower your reader with book choice.
Set up an eWallet account
Go cashless! An eWallet account allows your child to purchase books with digital funds. To create an eWallet account for your child, go to HTES PTA Spring Book Fair and open the link for eWallet. This eWallet Video Intro will show you how to set up and manage eWallet.
Volunteers are needed so that all classrooms have the opportunity to visit the book fair. Sign up to volunteer for one or more 2-hour slots by May 16th and be entered for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to use at the book fair! SIGN UP HERE or contact@tubmantigerspta.com to learn more.
PTA Elections
Interested in being part of the Tubman Tigers PTA board? Nominations are open until May 31, 2024. Click here to nominate someone. Only PTA members in good standing (23-24 school year dues paid) may vote in the Board Elections or be nominated to the PTA Board. All nominations forms must be submitted by Friday, May 31, 2024. Resources for Families
Parent Academy TO GO is designed to inform and empower families as advocates and partners in their children's education. Workshops provide families with useful information and resources to support their children's academic and emotional well-being, as well as help them to be college and career ready. Advanced registration is required to participate in our workshops and chats.

Gaithersburg Book Festival: Saturday, May 18
The Gaithersburg Book Festival, a celebration of books, writers and literary excellence, will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg.
The festival will feature a lineup of authors and activities for children of all ages. There will be programs, workshops and activities for children designed to promote interest in reading and writing. More than 100 authors and illustrators are scheduled to appear.
Admission and parking are free.

Karate Summer Camp
The Master Method Academy is excited to offer a FREE summer camp again to 100 MCPS students (25 students at each of our locations). They will be doing fun karate activities, games, life lessons and more.
