Keep Up with What's Going on at the Hill!
Dear Bulldog Families,
I hope everyone had a restful and joyous winter break. I am excited for the challenges and rewards that 2025 will bring us! A focus for staff and students at Bunker Hill this year is goal setting. Goals can and should be set continually as we accomplish them and look to the next opportunity for growth. Every new year, I like to reflect on progress and refine goals. I look forward to continuing support for all our students to feel a sense of belonging and community at Bunker Hill, while setting academic expectations high. Mr. Syed, our PBSIS committee and Bulldog ambassadors are committee to providing proactive and positive activities for everyone to participate. Staff has handed out over 1000 pride paws, which means are students are being the example and getting caught! Students earned a friend lunch period! Mr. Syed will give more information to the students. Remember to check out our Building Better Bulldogs website. If students complete service hours for the bulldog bash, please email me any photos and descriptions so that I may share on our "Bulldogs who give back" page.
Thursday and Friday is our iREADY mid year diagnostic. Please see the attached letter below. Please ensure students are ON TIME, and their device is charged. They also should have pencils.
As we continue our school year, we ask if parents can please talk to your students about cellphone usage. We are seeing a rise of cellphones in the bathrooms and locker rooms. Having a smartphone or recording/photography device is a big infraction that violates school policy and student privacy. We take this matter very seriously. Students are not allowed to text or use social media during the school day. Most of our student conflict we see occurs via text messaging or on social media. I appreciate our partnership with parents in helping our students be safe and successful. Please see our parent resources attached below.
Our Bulldogs basketball teams will begin having games after school. We encourage students to stay after and support our students. Students are reminded that cellphone usage such as taking photos or videos is NOT permitted. We need our players to be their best with out distraction.
Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Egizi
