FLMS Weekly Update
November 8th, 2024
What’s cooking at FLMS:
Congratulations to Weston Brolsma from Lakeville and Ryan Messier from East Freetown for being selected as this year's Project 351 Ambassadors. Project 351 selects 8th grade Ambassadors from each of Massachusetts' 351 cities and towns. Ambassadors participate in a year of leadership and service, developing skills and confidence to mobilize their communities. This is a tremendous honor and an opportunity to represent our school and make a positive impact in the community. We can't wait to see the positive change that Weston and Ryan will bring to our community!
We just wrapped up our first Learning Walk- teachers walked in and out of classrooms all week long to see firsthand the great work being done in all areas of our amazing school. Our students were great- we witnessed some really awesome collaboration, and solid work from our kids. Kudos to all!
After the Bell is offering some great classes and clubs for the Winter Session. There is Drama Club, House of Cards, Minute to Win It, Get Fit, Game Time, Dodgeball and Kickin' It Kickball. Use this link to register. https://forms.gle/AqPexGqZqCfNyeEo7

Message from Guidance:
WHO WOULD LIKE TO PIN A FEATHER ON THE TURKEY? We are reaching out to our FLMS community to help us create and provide Thanksgiving Baskets for families who could use a little support during the Thanksgiving holiday. Turkeys, juice, rolls and butter have already been generously donated so we need your help for the fixings. If you would like to donate an item (list of items), please have your student stop by the guidance department to pick a feather from the list and pin it on our handsome turkey, I will confirm your donations via email. Students and staff can drop off their donations in the appropriate box located in the library. Donations are due no later than Wednesday, November 20th. Pies can be dropped off on Monday, November 25th. If you are interested in receiving a Thanksgiving basket or have any questions, please reach out to Melissa Navega at mnavega@freelake.org. We are truly grateful to our amazing staff and community for all of your contributions!
