Hello Bobcats!

Happy Monday! I hope that everyone had a great weekend!

We had another AMAZING week at DMS!!! Our Bobcat Baseball teams performed well, with 3 out of 4 teams winning their brackets last weekend!!! We celebrated our Veterans on Monday... and the kids did such a great job...band, choir, StuCo, and audience members!!! The Bobcat Tennis Team had a strong showing against Ennis!!! 7 out of 8 basketball teams won their games!!! We celebrated World Kindness Day by spreading a little positivity throughout our hallways. And...our students continued to show up and show out academically as they engaged in their coursework!!!

We launch Generation Texas Week today, where we focus in on college, career, and military readiness. We have fun dress up days planned as we investigate future opportunities.

We are t-minus 4 school days away from a well-deserved break... hang in there!

We are so proud of all of our Bobcats and all of their accomplishments. Lots of info to share... let's get to it! Make it a great week, and go Bobcats! 🐾💙

DMS wants to honor our educators who go above and beyond to provide students with an exceptional learning experience. Using this Google Form, please nominate a staff member who models and encourages the Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH) tenets of empathy, self-direction, teamwork, courage, perseverance, and integrity. Please take a moment to recognize anything big or small they've done to make a positive difference at DMS.

MISD calendar input survey underway

The district is conducting a brief five-minute survey to collect input from parents and staff about next year's school calendar. The link to the survey has been sent via email. Parents are encouraged to check their inboxes. The survey will remain open through Friday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m.

Survey responses will be shared with members of the MISD 2025-26 Calendar Committee and will help guide the committee as they develop draft calendars for the 2025-26 school year. Survey questions ask about the MISD hybrid calendar, student breaks, and other calendar-related information.

We realize that there have been bouts of COVID, strep throat, and a stomach bug going around. Please remind your kiddos to wash their hands frequently, drink plenty of water, and get plenty of rest in an effort to mitigate illnesses.

Just a few attendance reminders:

• Absence notes should be emailed to lisa.wood@midlothianisd.org within 24 hours of the absence.
• When you email the school, please include the student's first name, last name, and ID#. Student nicknames can cause confusion with attendance coding.
• If you feel that there is an error for a particular class period, please email the teacher directly first. For example, if your student was tardy and the teacher accidentally marked your student absent, please email the teacher so the teacher can submit an absence correction form.
• Please remember that we have approximately 1,000 students on campus, so it may take 1-2 business days for the update to show in Skyward. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
