Grade Updates
As we begin to move towards the end of the 3rd grading period, please check in on your child's grades and encourage them to finish this 9 weeks strong! Eligibility will affect several choir opportunities such as:
- Pop Show/Pop Show Auditions: Because we sell tickets for Pop Show, students MUST be academically eligible (passing ALL of their classes with a 70 or higher). The best way to ensure your child's participation is to encourage and check in on them as we move into the final week of this grading period.
- Choir Placement: Auditions for next years' choir placements will take place in April. Points are deducted from the overall score for each 9 weeks that a failing grade appeared. Upper level choirs have many events throughout the year that require academic eligibility.
- Overall GPA: Some of the best and brightest students in the school are members of our choir program. This is typically one of the toughest times of the academic year, so checking in with your student will help encourage and support them to ensure overall success.
Choir Trip 2025 Interest Form
I am exploring the possibility of a Choir Trip to Orlando, FL next school year. An interest form was sent out earlier this week. If you have not had a chance to complete it, please click HERE to complete the form. Your help and information will guide me in how to approach the travel company. Thank you!
Pre-UIL Festival (SCHEDULE UPDATED 2/22!)
FBISD Pre-UIL Festival has been officially scheduled for Wednesday March 19 - March 21. Our REVISED schedule is:
Wednesday, March 19: Chorale performs at 2:40 pm
Thursday, March 20: Chorale Women perform at 8:55 am
Chorale Men perform at 12:05
Advanced Treble Choir performs at 1:20 pm
Friday, March 21: Tenor-Bass Choir performs at 10:15 am
Treble performs at 2:15
Please make every effort to avoid pulling your child out of school on the day they go to the festival. This is a very beneficial event for us in our preparations for UIL Concert and Sight Reading. Uniform for the event will be gray choir polos and jeans.
If you are available to chaperone and assist in the holding area, I could REALLY use some help on Thursday and Friday. Please send me an email and let me know your availability. Thank you in advance!
THANK YOU to our generous Tiger Choir sponsors!
Thank you to everyone who has been purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist to help "clear the list!" If you are able to browse our list and help purchase an item, we would be SO grateful for your support!

Chorale Updates
- This semester, we have been working in our Varsity UIL rehearsals after school. As a reminder, these rehearsals are a graded requirement of the course and students need to make plans NOW to be sure they have adjusted schedules as necessary for attendance. Please note that ONLY school events can be an excused absence from rehearsals. Outside leagues, rodeo concerts, etc. are not considered excused absences. In general, Varsity Treble Choir will rehearse on Mondays after school, and Varsity Tenor-Bass Choir will rehearse on Tuesdays after school. Please click HERE for the complete schedule. We will also still have our Pre-UIL and UIL events on the original choir calendar.

Voice Lessons
This year we are thrilled to add another private voice teacher to our staff and extend a warm welcome to Mr. Antoine Griggs. Mr. Griggs is an accomplished performer who regularly sings with various organizations in Houston, including the Houston Ebony Opera Guild and Houston Grand Opera! He came to campus a couple weeks ago to meet the students and began lessons last week. He still has a few spots open. If your child is interested, or if you have any specific questions please feel free to reach out to him at antoinegriggs@gmail.com. We are very fortunate in Fort Bend that lessons are taught during student's choir class time so no additional rehearsal time is necessary and I hope that many students will take advantage of this awesome opportunity!
